How iconic is Prince?

No, Prince is not even close to Michael Jackson status on a global sense. MJ transcended all barriers and facets of life across the globe.. not just throughhis music, but through his actions and humanitarian efforts. You can't say the same for Prince, at least not on the same scale.



HOWEVER, from a solely musical standpoint... yes, Prince is an icon. He is arguably the most talented musician of our era when you look at allthe instruments he could play, as well as his singing and songwriting talents. He has seven Grammy's, sold 40 million records, made damn near 40 albumsspanning over 4 decades, and some straight classics in the music world like Purple Rain, 1999, Sign O' The Times, etc.

You should check some of his stuff out... although it's difficult because Youtube isn't allowed to host any Prince content.

Prince is...he's always been a little misunderstood by most. He was never completely in the spotlight like MJ. As well, he's both outspoken yetquiet...in other words, MJ was "weird" (for lack of a better word). Prince...he's an enigma.

If women controlled the media though, Prince news would be on 24/7 when that dude died

yeah and he literally pulled hit artists out of nowhere. in it's prime the Paisley Park machine was unstoppable. Michael Jackson defined the 80's butPrince created the Minneapolis sound and transformed the funk genre and heavily influenced soul, hip hop, jazz, rock and really all music.

Prince is definitely under-appreciated, especially now. Jackson meant more to the world, Prince means more to musicians.
