How long did it take you to find your first job out of college?

I'm just starting the process now of sending out all of my materials to people. I can already tell that this is going to take forever. How long did it take you guys to find something?
BTW I'm a Journalism/English major trying to get into sportswriting. Already applied to places in Washington and PA... and I live in Minnesota.

I was lucky enough that I was working as a CS rep @ my workplace and the Logistics boss offered me a job as soon as I was done school. I still see my buddies who work "downstairs"...the feeling is priceless whenever I see them getting angry @ customers.

..though now I wanna murder my current Manager and regretting this move. Oh well, at least I got something to put on my resume now.

It took me 3 months to get a solid offer for my first job and another 3 months to start because it required a government security clearance.

I'm a Journalism major, focus on radio...I got my 1st "real" job in my field with a major radio station on a major afternoon drive show last month. I graduated in June 2010. So yea...it was a long time, a struggle, but I'm grateful.
