How to handle a prick supervisor?

So I work at a call center and my area that I work in has gotten a new supervisor. Hes a gay white young man. Word is he is disgruntled because he gets passedup for higher jobs within the company. Everybody in my group hates him.

Hes the type that will make sure he knows your every movement. He will watch you when u get up out your seat to use the bathroom and even wait at your desk foryou to come back. HE treats the girls the same way. HE even called me at my desk and asked why was I in breakroom. I told him it was personal matters that Idont want to discuss with him bla bla.

Dude is a prick. He treats us like a 10 year old kid. This dude even drop notes on our desk to let us know how much time we have left on ourbreaks....

We are thinking about going to the Operations manager and let her know that we dont like the way he treats us..

What are your thoughts. How do I handle a Supervisor like this?

Since it seems most of your coworkers also share the same sentiments as you, I think if a whole team is unsatisfied with a supervisor then a change is indeedin order.

By the way, when I was doing a marketing internship at my last employer, I also had problems with a "gay white young man", he was just the rudest,most self-centered guy you'll ever meet.

talk to him my dude. Instead of complaining about him and what not and not doing anything about it, be a man and tell him exactly what bothers you about him.Communication solves a lot of problems. There's the type of people that piss and moan about somebody behind their backs and there's the type of peoplethat confront them face to face. If the talk doesn't work, you can go the human resources rout.

I had one of those too. I just did my job, and went home. Eventually his whole act got tired, and our HR Dept reassigned him lower on the totem pole.

That sounds ridiculous. But yeah you should talk to him, but tread lightly. Don't attack him and don't say that all of the coworkers fell the same.Just say you overheard some people say that they didn't like his style of management also. If you don't come at him correctly he's going to feelthreatened and feel like all of you guys are plotting against him and make your life hell. Also going to him first shows that you are willing to work theproblem out and can take initiative as opposed to running directly to operations manager first. If it doesn't work document the day you had theconversation an what you guys talked about and the operations manager should take that a lot more seriously and it'll make you look good.

is he doing anything out of bounds with respect to his responsibilities as a supervisor?

sounds like he's a micromanager....but other than managerial style...doesn't sound like he's doing anything wrong per se.

Question, if you guys go long on your breaks, does he report it?

All that I ask of the people that I supervise is that they make my job easy. If they make my job easy, I pretty much just leave them alone. If I have MYmanager coming down on me, then I have to get on them more about staying productive.

The supervisor just is annoying. IF you get up from the desk even if its legit, he will check his cpu to see what im logged out for , then follow me around.The prick even waited at my desk for me to come back after I was LOOKING for him and had the nerves to ask where was I what I was doing..LOL

We went through 3 managers last 4 months, managers get swtiched around alot but he has been getting better after I told him I dont need a baysitter I need asupervisor to helpme succeed and make comapny goals. I told him along as my numbers are within threshold then he needs not to say anything.


All our other supervisors was cool and didnt care what we do as long as we do our job..

when i managed people at my old job, this is all i asked them to do. i was a kickback manager and they liked me. had people wanting to transfer to my centerbecause they like the way i managed. we was just straight kicking it most of the day but work was getting done. the only times i ever got on them about stuffwas when the regional managers got on my head, which was really almost never. store was making money and we was having fun.

YEA, HE SAID HE WAS FALLING BACK NOW.. He said coming from the other dept he had to be strict over there but see it laid back were we are at.. SMH he was theworse at first.. I couldnt even take a piss without him following behind me into the bathroom asking me what im doing. Like dude dont u see my dang alang in myhand. get real
