I came in to college planning to go to pharm school. After the first few weeks I realized I relally didn't want to do that anymore so I changed my major toexploratory. I'm failing Bio and Chem right now and I have no idea what I want to do with my life.

I have no motivation either since I don't have agoal to pursue. My social life is fine but this academic stuff is really stressing me out. Did anybody else go through this their freshman year? How did itturn out? I need some motivation.

this is my first semester at a University. and my grades are horrid, I blame NT

Mod's I say you IP ban both of these cats until next semester. Its for their own good.

Not freshman year, but junior year I was in the same situation as you. I thought I had everything figured out...then changed my mind about a hundred times.

I am going to college for a Bachelor of Liberal Studies (AKA just need that diploma) but I plan on hitting grad. school for IT work.

My old roommate was in Pharmacy school, no joke there at all. But if you can survive you are making 100k easy anywhere you want to.

See an advisor or a career counselor. But the last thing you want to do is have a couple of failing grades on your transcript. Finish this semester, and thenmake some decisions. Best of luck bro.

just found out my school has an online tutoring thing, and also free tutoring sessions but you have to sign up for that. So that's what I'll be takingadvantage of.
I just flew by in high school and my first year at a CC, thought I could do the same thing this year....

First semester was so dope...i cant even remember all of it tho...co ed dorms (/halls) FTW

I went through a similar phase. Skepticism about your future is common but make sure you don't put off thinking about it. You know you need to pull thegrades either way. Crack down and get those up so you at least have the option of a college degree with a decent looking transcript then start narrowing downyour interests and figure out how to manipulate it into a career or an outlet for an income.

Also, if you have any family members or parents of friends that went to college, I'd highly suggest consulting them (if they're the approachable type)about how they managed. After my first semester without any adult guidance I was extremely lost but talking to people really helps you figure out where youmight want to go degree-wise.

im in my first semester and i find school hard i should have gone to college after i graduated

I smoked all the time, went on here and played Halo. Didn't do %!*% on the weekends either cause football.

made all C's

Lots of fun, sex, partying, drinking, smoking, etc.

Next semester: Academic Probation

Don't be fooled tho. The actual work was easy but now a days they take attendance seriously (plus I was in an accelerated program)

if you're grades are bad because of NT then you're doing college wrong

This is my first semester of college, and it's going alright. I don't really know anybody, so my social life has beenwack. I signed up for the radio station's street team so I could meet more people. So I'm optimistic and it's still kinda early. As far aacademics, I'm definitely more focused than high school. But I tend not to always do the readings I'm assigned. But I am doing well in 4/5 of myclasses so that aight. Hopefully my social life will get better so I can get some {(0)}

lol my social life of recently has been non existent. I tell myself I'm staying home to study and most of that time i spend on here or playingvideo games

I'm in Pharm School right now. Tough as nails but you will learn to manage your time and priorities quickly. Social life is in tact as well as we as aclass hold parties and socials at the end of the week.

All you gotta do is the flip the switch on man.

1st semester...3.75 GPA with hardly any fun...I was takin it a lil to serious

2nd semester...2.5 GPA but partying it up...social life was boomin...

oh well, if anything its a reality check that i REALLY need to get my study game up

I did horrid like a 1.875 my first semester. No to mention I went through a major changing every semester mode. After that I spoke with a study strategist atLSU and she really helped me out with my time management and study skills. After that I went from a 2.5 to a 3.12 to a 3.47 each subsequent semester after Ichatted with her. I am an EE major too. Look for those resources offered at your school.

damn, you sound exactly like me

My first classes were today since I'm on quarters...
Social life has been whack so far though. I only know a couple people from school and I'm trying to meet new people but a lot of them already have theirown little groups from high school. My roommate's really cool though so he's been introducing me to people from his school.

Mine was aight. I learned about the grimey world of college athletics.
