Some random kid was being mean to ur son or daughter or niece or knephew or kid brother/sister or ur cousin who's about 3-7years old?

I would politely but sternly tell the kid to stop being mean to him/her.

depends if he is with his father or mother. if not 8o

They are kids so I would just try to calmed them down. Inside I'll probably be upset, but at the end of the day - they are kids.

Following that - I will have to start teaching my X how to stand up for him/her self in hopes that in the future he would just use it as self defense rather than instigator ...

Go straight to the kids parents. Do all you can to get it through to them that it would not be tolerated. If this does not work, contact social services or police on the parents.

If you are going through this OP, handle it IMMEDIANTLY! I am sure you have see the countless stories in the news about children being bullied to the point of suicide. Take care of it now and do all you can to prevent it from affecting your ( or whoever it is) kids from allowing it to affect them emotionally.

I was told some kid was mean and kept destroying my niece's sand castles and just wondered what nt would have done..

3-7?

They're just kids lol.

I would just pull the little troublemaker aside and in a calm voice tell him

"Touch my kid again and i will break into your house and kill your f****** parents in front of you.
I swear to god and the devil.

Go ahead, i dare you."

Now go play nice.

I telling you man, this is bullying at its earliest stage. Go to the parents.

There is no way of reasoning with a child that young, they learned their habits from home, so their home is where you go!

As sad as this sounds, you should definitely talk to the parents....but have a recorder app on during the convo just in case. Some parents just don't care enough, and/or, aren't willing to take the time to really make the change. The kid will just do it more subtly. I'd mention to the kid (bully) that if he so much as looks at my kid funny or tries to make him feel bad I'd call the police on his parents and that they would be in trouble, not just him. Even kids that don't listen to their parents (at the age) see them as invincible. Additionally, I'd mention it to the school. Some schools do a good job of keeping an eye out for this sort of stuff.

From having taught kids...the fear of the consequence needs to be pretty high. Some kids are just good, and some kids just need to practice good habits forcibly through extrinsic motivation to build up the internal good feelings that come from it.

Oh, I suggest recording the convo with the parents because things can escalate and get quiet ugly (cuz of the US and litigious society yada). Better to have that in the back pocket in case something does go down.

All in all though, your kid will be fine as long as they also have their own set of friends. Bullying is not a big deal when the person being bullied has a strong friend circle. When they don't and are a bit of a loner...that's when trouble really happens. As such, instead of teaching him to fight...i'd help my kid make more friends by joining him in team sport type activities.

Edit. Didn't realize it was 3 to 7 year olds. Just tell the kid to stop lol. Kids that age don't really 'bully'...they just live moment to moment. Some of them are nice, some quiet, some aggressive, etc. It's just a momentary thing...and it is why they need to be policed at that age. They can't just be allowed to do wtv they want cuz they don't know what appropriate limits are yet. Btw, 7 is a big difference from 3....you need to be more specific about the situation.

As much as I encourage stopping it, you may be messing with fire by going direct with the child. Saying things like others mentioned in this thread will get your *** kicked quickly by their parents. This isn't the old school and many parents do not like their children being spoken to by other adults.

Think about it, if you do talk to the kids, being between the age of 3-7 and they go home and tell their parents, what is the probability that they will regurgitate exactly what you said, regardless of how nice you said it initially.

Trust me dude, go to the parents!

Tell your child to stand up for themselves. This is a teaching opportunity. You have that mentality now what's going to happen when they get the same treatment in middle school cuz their parents were always fighting their fights? You really want to have that kid who's parents are always at the school calling everyone a bully? This is a good age, they can't really hurt each other, they learn a sense of pride, they learn to take matters into their own hands. If they really get hurt or the other kids parents get involved, then you get involved. Stop raising these punk *** over liberal unprepared for life little soft kids. Remember, you're not raising kids, they are kids, you're raising them to be adults, let them handle the problems they should be able to handle.

First off, tell your kid to stand up for themselves. Teach them that they dont have to take **** from nobody, and there will always be bullies no matter what age you are, you just need to know how to deal with them. Second, go to the parents, tell em you dont take that **** and if their kid doesnt stop, then you will be notifying the school, police, etc.

Make it a big deal. Especially if its your own blood. If its at school, let them know. If its at the beach tell the kid NO, kids should listen to their elders.

My nephew is 3 1/2 in daycare already handing out fades.

He'll grow up with the Malcolm mindset...

"Be peaceful, be courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery." -Malcolm X

in your circumstance, you should kick sand in the kid's face.

Id watch and see how my child reacts. If it gets too bad I'll step in, but like posted above its a good teaching oppurtunity

its different depending on the age if the kid was the her age (he might of liked her and just tryna flirt with her in his own way)

if it was some older kid just being a jerk and she cant stop him then  you go find another kid his age to give him the hands

or talk to his parents

youll look like idiot/get in trouble being grown and punishing a random kid

Since my nephew has older cousins around the bully's age on my sister-in-law's side I'd ask for those cousins to "intervene."

Get my belt, extension cord, or whatever I can find and go to work the work on the little brat in front of his/her classmates and tell them if their parents have a problem they can meet me in the elimination chamber for a handicap no disqualifications match.

But on a serious note, I would go straight to the parents and the school. If it don't stop then its time to teach little billy how to fight and stand up to bully's.
