I just found out today that the house I grew up in is being put on the market.
That's 18 years of memories that I can never visit again, I don't even wanna go back to Houston anymore, my boy died last year and now my childhood home is being sold.

Happened to me. it sucks %#+. I know the guy who moved in tho.. he took my old room.

Sort of on topic, just found out my grandparents house was on sale. They haven't lived there for about 8 years now, but when I looked at pics of it, it took me way back.

Hope he has fun getting the stains out the carpet.

i hope he goes over it with a blacklight... and all the glowing areas are in the shape of socks and old t-shirts.

My dad has had the same house since I was 8. I picked out the bunk beds my sister and I slept in when we visited every summer. 15 years later my 5 year old brother that I would have never fathomed having now sleeps in the same bed in the same room. It's crazy how fast or slow life can change.

To the fap jokes.
We didn't have carpet.

We had wood floors.

So whoever buys the house will forever have dirty socks.

Things change, I usually don't feel like going back to Houston either, I only go to see my family.
Sometimes I go out of my way to drive by the apartment complex I lived in as a little kid.
Growing up feels weird.

I've just recently moved into my own apartment but I thought about this the other day. My whole life I've moved around; not frequently but in gradual phases of my life and my family has never owned a house. So for me, there really isn't any "childhood home" to go back to.

I couldn't imagine that, nor do I want to!

My parents bought this house right before I was born, we've all lived here for almost 19 years...

Still have the same house phone number!

I feel you though OP we moved into a new house recently. My mom hasn't sold the old 1 yet though & I still have my key. I go there occasionally & smoke or chill with people even has power still for some random reason.

I'd be ecstatic if the house I grew up in was put up for sale. Too many years of disappointment and I know my mother would be much happier in a different location and if my mother is happy, my father is fine. If my mother is depressed/angry, its hell for everyone, which its how its been for a while now. She was happier in Chicago and I'm trying to get my parents to go back.

That must suck...but my house wont go anywhere. My grandpa bought the house before I was even born. My grandparents had 8 kids and all of them had at least 1 or 2 kids. So Including my grandma someone is always at the house. Matter of fact, my family owns four houses on the same block. lol. Well 3 now since one of my uncle sold his and moved to Torrance.
