How would you think of kanye as a musician if the first time he ever released anything was 808s?

Like the title says, how would you react to 808s and Heartbreak, and Kanye himself as a musician if this was his first attempt at being a musician? Personally,i think itd be pretty dope and a fresh breath of air for music in general.

Same as I did when CD came out, something new/different/fresh/original/dope.

I really think the album would be pretty groundbreaking being that hes singing and making these ingenious beats, which is rare

No you wouldn't.

First of all, if he didn't have the fans that would buy WHATEVER he put out, he wouldn't have made this album.
If a completely new artist that you never heard dropped this as a debut album, it would get no where NEAR the praise this is getting from some people.

But that's for alot of artists.
Certain albums wouldn't have been dropped if said artist didn't already have a fanbase established.

doesnt matter because if this was his first album it wouldnt be on the radio or tv

/discussion

im just saying that i think it would be getting as much praise as it actually is because what hes doing right now is timeless

i rather pump daft punk or justice then this emo trip of a album...

I actually like the joint, but if he was a new artist, I probably wouldn't even check it out, honestly.

And dudes need to chill with saying "This album is so ingenious, it's decades ahead of it's time". It's a dude singing in autotune with808 drums behind him. It's not like dude invented a new key signature or something, hop off. It's getting sickening.

I think he'd recieve a lot of "he is copping T-Pain" talk

His singles wouldn't be getting played as much

There would be none of this "innovative/creative" talk, because it would just be another emo pop album

I'd think he was corny.

No different from how I actually feel now.

what hes doing right now is timeless

co-sign to the fullest

I'd think that he was a sad and depressed man that needs to get checked out.

I find it funny how KanYe has brainwashed all his fans (and the media) to the point where they are scared to call anything he does trash.

the album is trash.

This thread actually has people who are talking sense... I looked through the last 4 pages of the official 808s thread and the amount of AMAZING, INGENIOUS,CLASSIC, ALBUM OF THE DECADE lines im seeing is ridiculous.
