hydrolock after intake install

anyone in the bay ever experience hydrolock after installing a CAI? or is it not even an issue around here?

I'm curious, what type of car do you have and what is the location of the intake relative to the engine bay? hydrolock most commonly occurs when in takingwater through the CAI that is located near the wheel well...

when i ran a cai, i used a filter cover from injen. you can install a bypass valve.

it's not a regional issue. It can happen anywhere there is deep enough water that will get sucked into your air intake.

your whole entire has to be submerged in water in order for a hydrolock to happen. U should be fine. I've ran my CAI for the past 2 years in the bay area.No problems, even with the heavy rain.

If your hydrolocked, it won't even start. But I wouldn't run it any longer with water in the oil. Do an oil change asap.
