I was searching craigslist for a new whip and i'm astounded at how low some of these cares are moving for. I'm mainly interested in a previous genCL500 since the body style is timeless. Just looking at what they're selling for and what they were originally listed at is a real eye opener

This is what I was lookin at. I've been loving this car since i was in the seventh grade when it dropped and was priced at $110,000 at a local dealership

I think this range below debuted at $75,000 when it dropped in '03

The list goes on...I know an NTer recently bought one like this for $20,000 but now its priced $4,000 lower

New luxury cars are for suckers. Used depreciation monsters

substance > style. buying used luxury cars isnt smart because the amount of money you'll have to pay for the repairs isn't worth it.

When you buy cars are they looking for the full $16,500 or whatever in one payment? Just asking. Not familiar with buying cars from a previous owner.

you're looking at the price of the car plus nyc sales tax to have it registered

Just for the rover up there you can make payment since it looks like its from a dealership, the others are by owner it looks like so all one timepay...

yes the owner is looking for payment in full. however, you can go to a bank and finance it like any other car. they'll give you a check for the owner.

Thanks for the input.

you never buy a brand new vehicle that's just throwing money away.

fixed

Why wouldn't you buy a brand new SUV/car (Ford, Chevy, Mazda etc.).

I can understand if it's a luxury vehicle but if it is just a regular brand then why not.

why waste the money?

I always buy cars used but no more than 20k miles..

When I bought my used bimmer, it had 40k miles and it’s at 125k miles running strong. I would probably aim for around 30k miles CPO though for my next luxury car, hopefully a 2015 BMW X5 50i.
