once you get the lab it will give you a new upgrade every 30 min (you have to buy the latest for the 30 min to start), after the 3rd upgrade it will give you a warning and turn your background into the picture

If it's the transmutated upgrade then I haven't had the chance to get it yet, I only have 6 grandma upgrades for whatever reason including the last one.
