Their "pressing issues" aren't exactly preventing them from doing other things like fining Chad Johnson $20,000 for a $1 joke forinstance.
I think the NFL is perfectly capable of doing more than one thing at a time. It's not like there's one office worker at NFL headquarters tending to allthese so-called "pressing issues" so that excuse is just that -- an excuse.

Why would they waste a good game on Thanksgiving? Youd rather watch 2 good teams today then 2 good teams on Sunday?
For me, just give me a NFL game to put on the tv while I celebreate thanksgiving with family. I dont need a nailbiter. Save that for boring sundays.

The Packers just played them on Thanksgiving 2 years ago. Should have scheduled another bad team for the Lions opponent. At least it would have been a"competitive" game then

Agreed with whoever said put them up against another bad team. Or at least rivalry games. Lions/Packers is ok.

How about a battle of atrition next year?
If the Lions, Raiders, Chiefs, ********, or Rams make no improvements, then throw the Lions against one of those others next year.
Who knows, maybe bothteams will be oh-fer on Turkey Day, and we can see two teams slug it out for their first win as we feast on fowl.
Imagine Lions/Raiders earlier today, and Packers/Cowboys right now.
