I want to move to Cali- how easy/hard is it?

its not worth it to move to cali if u move to some of the places you listed. DO NOT move to apple valley.

To point out a few things about Cali:

Jobs are scare dude, I mean even those with B.A are depending on luck. But the upside is that cali is wonderful place to stay, as long as you create a positionto make ends, your straight.

I used to live in Sac, Fresno, and Stockton, it was horrible. Asian gangs everywhere plus the wangsters.
Irvine is ranked #2 in the nation of being the safest city.
But its very costly, the apartment in Irvine costs about $1900~2000 for 2 bedroom apartment. But its definitely worth it.

like theres not baby thugs in irvine. I was at spectrumrecently and saw a bunch of UCI kids wanting to act hardbody.

Hmmm.....this is looking interesting. I was planning on moving out to Cali once I get my barbers licesnse...

next time I get a long weekend plus I'm going to take some time off, we're gonna go down there and scout some locations. How's Lake Elsinore? Ilike how their houses look.

Even though we were in Cali like 10 days last time, I was with the fam because of the family reunion and didn't have my own wheels so I didn't reallyget to check out certain cities like i'd like.

this is true. like half of my extended family has migrated from LA to Phoenix in the past 5 years, and they're living way betterfinancial-wise.

Being from San Jose, I agree with this. I'd say you look around Fremont, Hayward, or even Gilroy.

Look no further. If you want to move to California but want to live somewhere with relatively moderate cost of living, move to the East Bay or South Bay.Housing costs aren't as bad as the Peninsula and, since you're still in the Bay Area, everything is still pretty close. Trust me when I say youdon't want to live in some god forsaken city like Fresno, Bakersfield, or Stockton. Honestly, if you're going to move to one of those type of places,it's really not even worth coming out to California IMO.

Too far and too hot. Even the Nike Outlet sucks out there,

.

What is your budget? What are you willing to pay in rent? That will determine where you can/will live.

@ the dude that said Rancho Cucamonga is 40 minutes away, c'mon bro, spewing the speech the real estate broker told to get a ton of people to move out there. Technically, it is a 40-50 minute drive, but a lot of variables gointo that. There is always traffic on the 10 and 210,

you might as well just stay in your hometown.

i live in rancho cucamonga. CA. Its pretty much close to everything (the mountains. 40 minutes from LA, 40 minutes from OC, 1.5 hours from SD, good neighborhood)
if you want to stay out of the city, inland empire is the way to go. North Fontana, Rancho, Upland, Chino Hills, etc
lol 40 minutes to LA?

you driving 1 in the morning?

u can come to SAN JOSE. really close to San francisco and oakland.
its right in the middle of cali.
but if u want the best place, i recommend SAN DIEGO.
i think its the best place in cal

What is your "career" bro? Because like others have stated, the job situation out here is funky...if you're just coming out herewith no skills and trying to get a regular 9-5 then you might as well stay where you're at.

As far as locations are concerned, it really depends. What is your monthly budget going to be like? How far are you willing to commute to work? There areplenty of factors I think you should consider.

I moved out to Socal about 5 years ago. I found a job before I moved, and then found a place in the Rancho Cucamonga/Ontario area...which was pretty close towhere I work. I've lived in a big city for some years so I was like you where I didn't have to live in LA. I don't mind driving, and usually I canget to whereever I need to get in around an hour (of course not I'm not referring to traveling during rush hour). I like it here because it's quietbut just busy enough where I don't feel like I'm in the country....to each his own though, but I wouldn't suggest Lake Elsinore AT ALL

Maybe in Pacoima or San Fernando.

Even middle class areas like Mission Hills, Granada Hills will cost more than that now. When I waslooking for an apartment around CSUN, I found a 1 bedroom for $900 and that was a STEAL.

I've been in IT for about 2 yrs, but was actually a Kinesiology major. My official title is Information Assurance Security Officer for FortSill Army base. My buddy is a Network Systems Admin, and that was his major. I was looking on USAJobs and there's some jobs at LA Air Force Baase I'mgoing to put in for and see if I get any hits.

My budget all depends on how much I can make really. If it's gonna be like a 30-40k offer, unless I find a super cheap place to stay, I might as well stayhere. I probably like a small suburb to LA, Cisco, or the other big towns better. Town I live in now is like 150k, perfect size. You can get anywhere prettyefficiently and then if I want something more high speed, 287S to Dallas or I44 to OKC.

Move to LA im talkin about the REAL LA...Los Angeles Crenshaw n Slauson...Adams n Vermont...Main n Manchester LA

That's part of why I want to go LA; scoop one of those semi snobby, pretentious, rich girls like a Simmons daughter or something. Or Reggie Theus'sdaughter

Ok, my last one of these but how is Orange, CA?
