If God doesn't Exist Explain To Me How This Happened By Chance

If you are enrolled in college and have questions regarding evolution I encourage you to take a class on it. You will have all these questions answered and more, and you'll have a better understanding of it. Just take it pass fail or something and pay attention in the lectures.

Reading the posts in that above top secret website made me cringe.

Yeah I don't think most people even have a fundamental understanding of what evolution means :lol like I've had discussions with people saying "well monkeys still exist so there's NO WAY we came from them" I just had to shake my head and give a stone face. We share common ancestors from hundreds of thousands of yrs ago and branch off into our specific species....anyone who can't admit that in the face of all the clear research is either being obtuse, in denial for whatever reason, or flat out crazy. Having faith and common sense to understand science and evolutionary biology aren't exclusive.

there are many people who believe in Evolution because its the right thing to do..

then there are people who question everything presented to them.

I believe small children have the best minds, always questioning information even though the presenter believes he or she has explained it throughly.

for those who believe we evolved from primative ape like creatures wandering this blue green rock to the top of the food chain, my hat goes off to you, as you believe in someone elses work which has been spoon fed to you since elementary.

for those who do not believe outside of religous beliefs I commend you as you are still able to think freely.
you're kidding right? Spoon fed my dude? That is something religious fanatics are. No need to question your religion because god has the absolute answer and there is no need to present any evidence either. Do you not see the irony here? That you're calling religious people free thinkers and those who follow scientific thought and the process to have substatial data to prove theories right sheep. You're in serious denial if you say that religion makes you a free thinker. Religion makes you complacent for it doesn't have to work hard to have evidence to prove your beliefs wrong, it has the absolute truth attached to it and that is God. Religion is a cop out for being a free thinker.

I seriously think this is troll....
IM NOT RELIGIOUS NO WHERE IN THIS THREAD DID I SAY I WAS RELIGIOUS..... YOU NEED TO GET YOUR READING COMPREHENSION UP BOY...

FUNNY HOW A FEW WORDS CAN MISLEAD THE SIMPLE MINDED...

lolz

you're pathetic who can't in2engrish...

Understood no one is arguing that. The fox is still a fox. The fact that some here believe that one mammal or one fish became monkeys and eventually human is what is unproven. People be acting like evolution is a proven hypotheses.

''We're not just evolving slowly,'' Gould says, ''for all practical purposes we're not evolving. There's no reason to think we're going to get bigger brains or smaller toes or whatever - we are what we are.''
Stephen Jay Gould ( Professor of Geology and Paleontology, Harvard University )

To suppose that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.
Charles Darwin in The Origin of Species

"The more statistically improbable a thing is, the less can we believe that it just happened by blind chance. Superficially the obvious alternative to chance is an intelligent Designer."
- Dr. Richard Dawkins (Department of Zoology, Oxford University, UK

Well those three quotes can be ruled out straight away as any kind of credence for an argument against evolution.

All three are famously taken out of context and used regularly by creationists to try and add more weight to their arguments ...look up those quotes in their entirety and see what was actually said.

Whether or not people evolved or were spawned... as far as I can tell the story of Genesis (creation) does not conflict with scientific theory of evolution. (sea to land) The Bible just says He did it. Doesn't say what device or method He used.

so really whats the harm of saying god exists or a consciousness exists?

im not religious, but this seems the most logical way of looking at the bible

Damn.

For those that have been keeping tabs on this thread... worth going back and reading Pages 1-18?

I don't think the book of Genesis was intended to be any kind of scientific textbook. I think people can accept science and accept the messages of the Bible.

My kids used to be religious but I killed that quick. I told em "pray to God and ask him for me not to beat them tonight & you'll know if God is real" That night I got hella drunk and beat the !%$% out of them. Now if I ask em is God real they know the answer.

God, under any religion, is a fairly cheap answer to how the universe was created. I do not mean to offend, I am speaking my mind. I don't think many of you realize how much of a cop out it sounds like. "The universe was created somehow, and it definitely wasn't me, so it had to be God." Which is a very easy on the mind way to put things. No effort needs to be out into it.

I often wondered myself how the universe was formed. I once had the idea that; Since matter is neither created nor destroyed, what if it was never created? What if the universe was never a bunch of nothingness (which isn't really possible anyway) and it was just matter waiting to expand? Which is a completely likely answer before someone comes in with a stone face.

As for life on Earth, evolution is the answer. Evolution is a proven process done by natural selection. There is no denying it. We can test it in a lab, or observe it naturally. It has been done in a lab, and it has been observed naturally. I think we can all agree that Natural Selection is proven, and over time it causes an entire species to evolve.

The snowman still needs
Chromosome compaction
Cell cycles
Protein synthesis
Etc...

God created us and no that has not kept me or thousands of other christians from studying science and asking questions. I have also met many jewish doctors who believe in creation and God. They must have taken some science courses.

People base their assumptions on the cartoon christians they see on TV.

But you have millions of years for this... millions. Let's wrap our minds around that and let it marinate for a bit.
