Obviously age plays a factor, but I think laziness might be more of a factor.
For example Shaq is completely lazy and gets fatter every year, and never improves his skills (shooting). If he actually worked hard and stayed in good shape,I think he would still be able to dominate, despite getting older.
Another example is Vince Carter, although he is still good he has declined a lot due to laziness: eats junk food and gets hammered at the clubs like no other.
I could see Kobe still being very solid in his late 30's as long as he doesn't over work himself. Nash got better in his early 30's, Jordan cameback and was still a solid player at 40.
What do you think?
