IMO NBA Players decline more due to laziness than age...

Obviously age plays a factor, but I think laziness might be more of a factor.

For example Shaq is completely lazy and gets fatter every year, and never improves his skills (shooting). If he actually worked hard and stayed in good shape,I think he would still be able to dominate, despite getting older.

Another example is Vince Carter, although he is still good he has declined a lot due to laziness: eats junk food and gets hammered at the clubs like no other.

I could see Kobe still being very solid in his late 30's as long as he doesn't over work himself. Nash got better in his early 30's, Jordan cameback and was still a solid player at 40.

What do you think?

For real Vince? No wonder he has fallen off so hard. But yeah, a solidwork ethic can definitely help to mitigate the affects of aging, but I think injuries have more impact than anything. Sometime after a guy struggles throughand injury, he is just not the same mentally or physically.

do you live with the dude and go out with him every night

It's a case by case situation IMO.

Take for example Michael Finley who's always been a hard worker but once he started to get injuries in 02-03 and got older, he's declined (andunderstandably so).

and don't think that just about every one of these guys making 10s of millions a year aren't hitting up clubs all the time.

Sorry, can't picture my 3 examples Kobe, Nash, Jordan hitting up the clubs too often....and Vince (and J-Kidd) hits the clubs the night before a game whichis obviously not gonna help their performance.

Aside from clubbing and all that, it's work ethic. Personally, I would say Vince lost some of that spark.

What's wrong with relaxing and having fun at times? You think these pros work all year round? They need a day, a break to unwind- physically and mentally.

But going to clubs the day before a game? I don't know...

I kinda agree but injuries do play a role. However if a player stays injury free then it is all about work ethic.

Vince Carter does look out of shape compared to 6 years ago but he had a lot of knee problems.

Mutombo is like 50+ and stays in good shape

coz those dudes pullin $$$% outta their !@# about how jordan and nash don't go clubbing, got PWNED

vince carter decline was due to injury
Mcgrady decline due to injury

They get injured and then start to shoot jumpers instead of attacking the rim. Which leads to them relying on jumpers for points the rest of the career. Thenwhen the jumper isn't falling they say to them selves "@$@# it I'm still getting paid"

Please, a picture of them at the club means they go clubbing all the time? and during the season? No.

these dudes are certainly entitled to go out and cut loose just like anyone else who works...the fact that they are athletes shouldn't even matter. As longas they are producing, I don't really have an issue with their party habits. Let em' live.
