As an indian growing up here, it's crazy to see the amount to which our culture has permeated american society. Happy Diwali everyone! Have fun celebratingit.

Well and correct me if Im wrong when the population of them is 1/6 of the total human these things tend to happen. Then again their not taking over just movingin. They cant unless its a war effort atleast I not hope because after a few generations his the nationality of Indian is lost and becomes American.

Great that you have pride of your ethnic background, but as far as permeating American society, I have to disagree. People have made strides and many havesucceeded, but Indian-Americans are neither a populous or influential group in regard to the cultural landscape of the USA.

sort of true.... although you do see a lot of design/fashion influences in clothing from Indian clothes.

I think though, that where Indian-Americans really have influence is in the financial/business sector. Many of them are truly entrepreneurial.

I would say they've influenced the music scene to an incredible degree. back in the beginning of this decade you hardly heard any samples ofhindi music or songs with a distinct indian influence and now they're everywhere. And Hollywood is branching out to indians as well for. /look atmovies/TV. There's indian characters in some of the top prime time shows as well as some major motion pictures, not to mention the fact that A.R. Rahmancomposed the soundtrack for a major motion picture recently (couple's retreat).

I'm just saying, this is all stuff that you wouldn't have seen 10 years ago so it's kinda crazy to see now.
