Insomniacs how do you fall asleep?

How do you get yourself to fall asleep? I have not been able to fall asleep at all! and its weird like right now im dumb sleepy and i know if i go lay down imgoing to be knocked out but if i go to sleep at the time that i actually want to go to sleep i will not be able to sleep...
 
i used to be like that, thinking about whether i'll be able to get a good night's sleep every night. i eventually got tired and stopped thinking aboutit. been sleeping like a baby ever since, i guess thinking about falling asleep jinxed me. from then on, all i do is get comfortable in bed and close my eyes

I guess stretch for a few minutes then go to bed will help?

no idea what velerian is and i take nyquil sometime but i dont want to become dependant on it...i used to play some light music and sing along and ideventually fall asleep but past few weeks that has not been working

and you def don't have insomnia, sounds like you just need to get your circadian rhythm (sleeping habits) on schedule.
 
It used to be that I used to just stay up until I couldn't take it anymore. Sleeping pills make the sleep too deep. So I'd stay up for like 1.5 -2 daysand then just knock out..now its a little better, but if I'm not tired, I'm not going to bed.
 
valerian is a natural plant root totally safe you should wikipedia it.....its sold by at cvs by nature made and other pill companys.....same with melatonin
 
This is what you do, pretend you got chokeslammed or knocked out by someone and lay like youre knocked out and in no time you'll be out. i used to do thislike in the 6th grade hahaha.
 
i don't prefer the non-over the counter & non-prescription drugs that are bad for you, chemically. I prefer the natural-mary jane

you may be right cause im always sleepy (well most the time) around 6 to 8 pm but i fight it and stay up till like 4am :/ but cant do that anymorecause school starting i need that sleep!! so till then i may just take the nyquil
 
Ambien is what Heith Ledger used I believe and has very bad side effects. I heard you can sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and eat without knowingit.
Also, Nyquil and other sleeping pills aren't good for you. I have insomnia and I usually can't fall asleep until like 3ish. My mind just THINKS andTHINKS nonstop, and it's what makes me not be able to fall asleep. I've tried working out, listening to music, etc before sleeping, but mostdoesn't work on a consistent basis. The best is waking up early, and taking a late night shower usually works for me.
