Specifically interstate 10's checkpoint went entering California from Phoenix...what do they do? Do they search thru our luggage and everything like that?

its not even like that guys, just wondering how much time it's going to take thru the checkpoint and will they want to rummage thru some of my familiesluggage, were going to a big wedding in fullerton, and are bringing a lot of gifts some monetary and others not...just trying to figuring out what to expect

i never been through one going from phoenix to cali

I've been through one, but oddly enough it was on the 5 here in CA. They just asked to show my license/ID and where I was going. No biggie, unless youhiding something.

The times I've driven it there's been one checkpoint at the state line going into california only. They asked if we had any agriculture or whatever. Wesaid no and they let us go. Once going to vegas from Tucson they had me and my friend pull off to the side, asked for our I.D.'s then let us go.

Went through the Phoenix/Cali one 2 weeks ago. I stopped and the dude said "have a nice day" and that was it.

Just hide your stash in a sock deep in your luggage.
