Ipad vs Android Tablets

Ok, in the market for a tablet and needs some opinions. Yes I am aware of the Apple and Android threads but didn't want to wade thru 100's of pages for info. I REALLY don't wanna have to get an Ipad and put more money into Apples pocket if I don't have to, but these review sites make it sound like Androids have too much catching up to do in the tablet arena.

I really have my eyes set on a Samsung Tab 10.1 or Motorola XOOM.

Any opinions on the Ipad vs Droid Tablets debate??

It all comes down to if you'd rather have IOS or Android. Thats a decision you'd have to make.

So is it safe to say, that if (as a former iphone owner) I prefer my droid over an iphone, that I would prefer Android tablets over the Ipad?

I wasn't sold on the first iPad then I used a friends and thought it was cool but not that impressive. I went ahead and ordered an iPad 2 and used my business partners Motorola Xoom while I waited for my iPad 2 to come in (took 25 days) and I can honestly say the iPad is much easier to navigate, the home button is on the front, IOS is a lot more user friendly. Just from my experience.

no android device out is as smooth as what apple puts out, phone or tablet.

that said, i prefer my atrix over iphone 4, but ipad over android tablet.

probably although the tablets run honeycomb which is slightly different from the android phone experience
if i were you i'd try out one of these tablets first or buy one from a retailer with a no hassle return policy, try it one out for a couple days and if you like it keep it, if not just return it and cop an ipad 2

Android can do more but iOS is just so damn slick and user friendly. Only thing that sucks with the iPad is every so often you go to a site that has flash and your browser can't covert it so it can play

i got dat dere asus transformer

it does what it does

honeycomb is a little buggy

ios smoothness is 2 steps ahead

but for 399 compared to 519 and with desktop-like browsing (flash) im good

brb watching sports streams, brb watching that crazy vancouver dude jump into a flaming bmw live

the samsung 10.1 looks cool, but i already bought the asus

dont know if the thinness is worth the 100 bucks. i was thinking of getting it but the 14 days to return my asus was yesterday.

ios apps kills android market, but at the end of the day they're both just hours of fun. after your done trying to figure out what else you can do with it, you'll put it down and be lik "oh......ok"

its just mainly used to browse the internet while moving freely.

im sure apple will figure something out though, but for now im good.

Get a used or refurbished iPad 1. Ipad2 is not a serious upgrade.

Now with IOS 5 out Ipad 2 looks pretty good but it all depends on what OS you like better. Just go to the store and check em out to get a feel for them.
