Oh and... how do you make your passcode pad invisible? Someone mentioned it in another thread.

Dude lied to you, hows your phone that has a one year warranty already 2 months out of warranty when it only came out a year and 2 weeks ago. And if dudehasn't seen a screen thats stopped working in places, then he hasn't seen many iphones.
my cousin gave me his broken iphone.

what a coincidence for it to break right when the 3g iphone comes out too. everything is in good condition but the touchscreen isn't functioning properly. the bottom row with the most important functions like phone and mail doesn't work and the middle row doesn't work either. is there anyway in fixing this? i want to try and fix it but if not, then i'm just going to unlock it and try to fetch whatever i can on ebay.
Do what the guy above did, and take it to an apple store, they'll probably swap it out, as long as you're under warranty. You can checkyour warranty here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do if you're still under it, and your phone isn't jailbrokenor any of that, then they will probably swap it.

Most of the cats that are buying the 1st gen are with T-Mobile. I sold my 4GB iPhone unlocked and jailbroken Friday afternoon and the cat called meyesterday trippin because he updated to 2.0 and bricked his phone.

He wasn't getting a refund from me. I gave him the info to get it fixed. I only sold it for $150 anyway.

The Dev Team has not released the update yet so at this time the answer is no.

I haven't had any issues with my software at all. If he saved his contacts on this PC or Mac then a simple sync would've restored his contacts.

it's already past warranty. my cousin already tried bringing it to a store and they wouldn't replace it. i was hoping there was some type ofsoftware fix but i guess it's broke.

Bring it into the apple store, and they may be able to give you a replacement for like $70, depending. At the very least you can take it and make a couplebucks.
