Ipod Help: Computer/Software Doesn't Recongnize

For a while now I've had to connect my ipod to the computer several times for it to work. Does anyone know if its the sync cable or is the ipod notmalfunctioning

Does it power on???

Try a different cable, if the same thing happens, try another computer, if the same thing happens after that......then its the ipod

I have another thing to add. Does it help determine the problem if when I do get it to connect that if i move the cable in the slightest way itwill stop recognizing the player.

Sounds like either your usb port or cable is messed up. Buy a new cable and see if that works.
