ipod help!!!

so my friend got a 60gb video ipod and i put all my 5000 songs into its hd because i exchanged my laptop for a better one. so my new one just came into themail earlier today and when i plug in his ipod it says very low battery and then goes to a screen with a sad face ipod. i try to put it in disk mode butnothing works. does anyone know how to fix this??? i dont want to lose all my songs.

Try resetting.

Plug it in, turn the hold switch on, then off. Then hold the middle and play buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.

sad face = u gotta completely factory reset the ipod

but heres what you can try

you can first try charging it completely.

or if not

get a software program that backs up ipod to computer.. search on download.com

and extract the songs

the computer wont even recognize the ipod even on itunes. ive tried charging it for an hour and its still the same. and how do you factory reset the ipod?
