is a VPN Necessary for Sneaker Releases?

With how much hype is around sneakers, it seems that I've been stricking out on releases more and more frequently. I am curious to know how many people here use a VPN and if it makes a difference in their luck picking up shoes online. If so, what provider do you use? cost? pros/cons?

Vpn will slow your connection down and only makes your connection more secure from being compromised.

Unless you are on a work computer and need out of the work LAN; Vpn is not even something you need.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought the connection would be faster since its on a private network of servers instead of the World Wide Web.
