Music eliciting a positive emotion isn't the same as actually boosting confidence. It can cheer me up, put me in a reflective mood, etc. But say I had a to give a presentation I don't feel like if I listened to a song I would suddenly find the confidence to present. You either have it or you don't.

:pimp: Batteries go directly into back when this song/video is playing.

rico x hood rico x hood i wanna feel you, but i don't think that's true.

Everybody in the world has that song where, "when things are getting me down, i put on _______ and I know I can keep going"

That's what this song does to me. This, and like dude earlier said Big Krit's Boobie Miles and Return of 4Eva. That's what music is SUPPOSED to do.

The problem is that people will listen to a person rap/sing about a specific thing, and go "yo i need to go do that exact thing."

I'll listen to Crenshaw and get mad hyped to go play poker at a casino or kill it at work or keep going hard and doing the things that help me not only follow my dreams but push my dreams/realities to the next highest level.

S/O to my man who brought up "Crenshaw" mixtape...
That has been consistently played during this week of finals...
Brought me ALOT of confidence to keep my eyes on why I am doing this to better my life and my lady

Thread jack to hip-hop songs that get you gassed? These tracks used to get me gassed, like filled me with different kinds of energy, now I can reminisce on those good times...

When packs were sold before they landed.

With the homies.

In the whip.

If you don't have songs that make you feel good and/or you can just apply to a certain scenario or remember a good time by them you are probably a boring person.

OP have you ever smashed/made love to R&B?

I don't know. I never really felt like I gained confidence through any music genre, which was why her whole premise was wrong to me. It it's there. if not its not. No song is going to just going generate confidence out the blue.

Maybe as an adult that's true. But don't you think the type of music a 12 year old listens to can contribute to how their self confidence develops. Like maybe ur an introvert but every song is about going out and partying so u end up being more social or that lyrical content can teach you accepted behaviors or how to be cool and give you confidence in a situation that may be foreign to you.

Lol, how cynical, childish and lame people can be about people using music to get hype or get them through the day or difficult situation...
Some people will find anything to argue about because they whether watch the world burn and be miserable...
Yep that good old" hater, lame duck" mentality
Lol

by feelin good i mean feeling yourself. feeling yourself is definintely just slang for confidence.

many things can give someone short lived confidence. you do not have to be a naturally confident

person. just like a person who is usually depressed can be genuinely happy due to an array of

things. so yeah people, clearly you're an exception, do listen to songs and acquire a short lived

feeling of confidence. like they can do certain things with ease and greater success such as

talk to females or even fight and sell drugs.

Can't speak on anyone else, but when I was studying for my Lsat every morning I woke up to

Goodie Mob - 'The experience'

Big Krit - 'Another *****' (never bothered to learn the name of the sinf)

Had my swag through the roof on the day of the test...

So, for me, I can confidently say yes.

Bruh if you think music doesn't affect people's confidence, then wait till you see a group of women dancing along to Single Ladies. ******* lose their minds

The music makes me feel some type of way. Some type of way, makes me feel some type of way.

I think the constant presence of social media as a form of validation for one's thoughts, feelings, and appearance is way more conducive to the cloud of arrogance that surrounds everything today.

music is hella influential thats
