Is it just me or....

JB also keeps Re-Retroing shoes that we've seen 2,3,4+ times release in our lifetime.

The thing is, people are more selective nowadays, and people take that as JB "falling off"

I remember back when JB would retro 2-3 colorways per shoe, max. Now we have Candy packs, memorable packs, etc.. you name it, they will think of it.

I can relate, I mean I love collecting shoes but if something comes up alls you need to do is sell some and its kinda like "money stashed away" in a sense...

According to your posts it seems to me that you are losing interest in the brand simply beacause all of the OG colorway releases have not been as hyped up as they were during the 05-08 era in which all of the hypies were gobbling up all of the limited and OG releases they could get their hands on. And from that savings account comment you made, it also seems you only see your collection as something that will get you a little extra money later on. As someone said in that one "shoe game thread," good times are coming now that all of the people who have always been purchasing Jordans simply because of their love for them will be the only ones who remain. For example, most of the original heads with outrageous collections you probably idolize are the ones who walked into footlocker 2 months after release day and picked up two pairs of the OG black cement 3s on clearance for 59.99

EDIT: Also, if your not in it for the love of Air Jordan shoes and the history behind them, please continue only purchasing nikes that way we can continue to get our pairs with ease. You have no idea how nice these last 2 releases have felt (WC 3s and Allstar 13s).

Well its not only like a savings account I do rock some. And btw very nicely written post. I kinda made this post for knowledge as well. I'm liking this feedback and learning from you guys.but at the same time I was in high school during those years and everyone did hype all releases which kinda inspired to want those next ones coming out.

it seems like a lot of so called heads jumped on after the hype, early 2000s (when do you think it started?), but as for me, I got into em by seeing all the older kids (6th graders when I was in 4th) in em and then I came across a fake site and got into jays that way....I learned the hard way and honestly if I didn't buy those black upper red patent 11s in 5th grade as well as hear about NT from a friend (now) who flamed me for rockin those 11s, I wouldnt be on NT right now....I was feeling 11s back in 2000 and bought some team jays back in 03, then broke my foot in em (right before And 1 was gonna come to Oakland that year, same year as the Hyphy Movement started going crazy with the Federation's THE ALBUM release in the parking lot at the And 1 game) and havent bought a pair since 05; LS 14s, which I played in for the team in middle school.....I still pay attention, but Jays dont do anything for me anymore. I'm set on getting those OG pairs all you "old heads" lived by. I'll get up there, just have to find some steals....

A lot of people jumped on for the money, but I'd say more heads (even today) are in it for the shoes only, resale value aside. Most people who have jays around me, rock em, they dont collect em. Jays are still worth it resale wise today, but much less so compared to 2000. 2005 IMO was when they started to fall off, and then the quality rumors on the forums didnt make it much better. Jays are VERY popular in certain places on this country, but there are too many releases these days and the cws arent even there, it seems like all JB can make that we like is the same old stuff from the 80s and 90s and thats pretty sad for a brand that built itself from making revolutionary models in amazing cws. Where did the "new" classics go? We'll see if JB can turn it around, but the way I see it, JB's days aren't too much longer, because you can only release the same thing so many times before it gets old.

Good that's the way I like it. I dont buy J's because their the in thing, I buy them because of MJ and I personally like J's better then any other shoes. When J's are in walmart for 19.99 ill be happy and still be copping because I love Jordans.

Not this again....

I agree OP but that's is why they drop so many retro's now. I'm from the old school but JB is bust trying to appease this new generation with all of these BS colorways and what not killing the retro game. They sit on shelves for months because hey produce this bs in the masses. The AIR JORDAN stopped at XX3 so all we have is retros. The same joints dropping every 4 or 5 years. They're forced to make #%@ like fusions and #%@. smh

The effed up part about it is how the economy is messed up and they continue to Up the prices on retros and make them out of cheaper material. Like really?? $150 for some 3's and they look like crap, crack and wrinkle. SMH

You pay for quality #%% . IMO retros are the worst shoes to ball in, they are flat and uncomfortable compared to what we have now day. I pay $200 for some retros just because it's what I want, I grew up on em and they are fresh as hell. I will pay $170 for some Comfortable LeBron's just to ball in, destroy em and not think twice about em. That was my intentions when I copped. I wanted a comfortable shoe to hoop in. I'm not hooping in no retros, pointless.
