Is it still considered "weird" for a girl to ask out a dude?

So im having a conversation with a close female friend of mine. We always talk about our current opposite-sex situations, so she was telling me something aboutsome guy somewhere, i dunno i was only half-listening, but she kept whining that she was sending the "signals" and why isnt he asking me out and blahblah blah.

Now, shes very good looking (we used to date but realized we were better as friends. I like to consider her the Elaine Benes to my Jerry Seinfeld) so I say"why dont you just ask him out?" and she looked at me like I farted in church or something.

Why is it still considered 'desperate' or 'weird' for a girl to make the first move? Ive been asked out before (like, once...) and it was sucha turn-on...

I know some of you swell gentlemen on here have been asked out by a girl before. I actually know a few of you are in current relationships BECAUSE she askedyou out

So fellas and ladies, lets discuss...

oh, and dont even ask for pics of my friend. Most of you are grotesque to look at anyways, and shes way out of your league.

because they would be the ones that man up and ask
not weird to me tho

seriously why is it "weird", girls asking guys would make alot of things easier. some girls are just horrible at giving out clues, that it makes itimpossible to figure if you should proceed to ask out.

i think men would appreciate it if girls made more 1st moves instead of waiting for the confused guy to imo.....

you got me dude, i don't know either. i don't think it's weird. it takes two, doesn't really matter who asks who imo...

i wouldnt mind if a chick asked me out, i would actually prefer it. i hate playing the "wondering how she feels" game. nh

Not 2 me...I love it when a (attractive) female comes at me...hell this 2008, we got equal rights, sweetie

EDIT:
*ElTIZZLE*
Why was the nh necessary? I mean...I'm as big a nh defender as there is, but that's a lil OD, cuzzo...

Nope, but it would be weird if you wanted to get me in full mount....

EDIT: I dont mean "weird" as in, weird for US as MEN, but weird for THEM as WOMEN. Morons.

I don't know but I think its stupid. I mean, theres no reason the guy shouldn't just make a move if the female is sending clear signals but the signalsaren't always that clear.

My current girl called first but I still claim I would've called if she gave me a little more time...

not weird to me, i been askin' dudes out since High School. But back then my game was on point, lol.

Yeah I still know many females that never strike, the few in my past that have been the ones to make the move, haveturned out to be the best lays

Who knows though, some chicks are whack about that stuff.

true

I think it's because most girls are taught that guys should make the first move, that's why...

Also, I think that the kind of girl that would be willing to make a first move is rare.

I don't think it's weird per se, some of my friends think it's taboo and will pass up on a (good) guy cause he's unsure if he should make amove or not just cause they believe only guys ask girls out.

If a dude is having a girl come up to him without having to do anything, he must be doing something right.

It's not weird.
