There are some pretty obvious reasons why general seems dead. S&T to an extent. Too much political bs.

Besides the Official Political Thread, most of the threads that could be deemed political is usually in regards to racism (there are even major threads lots of this news keeps funneled into) or some sort of discrimination.

The only reason you don't like these topics is because you disagree with the positions most of the posters take in the threads. This is especially true when it comes to discrimination against black people.

You don't have a problem with the "political stuff", your problem is that everyone else politics doesn't match yours.

I think the fun meter is down a tad because people are alot more sensitive these days. A little clowning and they log off indefinitely.

This golden era of NT general people talk about, there were complaints too.

Dudes used to make relationships threads constantly, and people asked if they could keep in one thread.

Dudes made political threads constantly, and others asked they keep it in one thread

The random funny videos where constant, especially from World-star, and some asked those videos be in a own thread.

And now we have these large threads those things and to discuss movies, TV shows, cars, and jewelry. So that cuts down on a lot of smaller threads

General is not really dead as in the bigger threads now dominate and in some ways act as a sub-forum for particular subjects. And these thread have their own sub communities.

Another thing that went anyway where the threads that were popular but problematic to the mods. Post your Pic was a flame fest, personal beefs used to be thought on General, and more recently the women's appreciation threads caused problems

Random threads still take off.

But yeah, browsing TAN and Fools Wildin, I can see topics that in the pasty would get a 2-3 page thread now be talked about in a page and dying. But that alone I don't think has caused the transformation of general. It isn't dead, just NT is different and people use it in different ways. If things were to change people would have new complaints.

While I think a minute number of post cross the line in regards to white people, the overwhelming majority of posters don't have any issue with just white people. They have major issue with people show support for, enforce, defend, or show a indifference to the system of white supremacy and systemic racism.It is just unfortunate that it seems like the majority of white community fit into one of those categories.

However, those same posters are also quick to applaud white people that stand for true justice, and harshly criticize minorities that talk down to other minorities and dismiss the force of racism.

Maybe you should look into how our socioeconomic system really functions and studying some history before making such ridiculous claims.
