Is Peyton Manning the most overrated qb of all time?

How can someone be the goat and only have 1 ring??? It's not the end all tell all, but championships mean a LOT.

I mean, unless you completely support Alex Rodriguez, Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds, Chinese gymnasts, the East German swim team, Ben Johnson and Tonya Harding... you can't claim those Super Bowls.

Cheating is cheating.
I guess we'll have to take away the Broncos SB Championships from the late 90's too then. Ya know, since cheating is cheating.

For sure Montana, Brady, Elway and Unitas are ahead of Peyton

Favre and Marino are arguably
Just curious why "for sure" Elway is ahead of Peyton.  Elway had a fair share of playoff and Superbowl failures as well.

And how on earth is Favre arguable?  In no way shape or form was Favre a better QB than Peyton is.

Farve??? Man I have trouble with John (but understand it) but I do not have Farve close to that high. Turnovers just kill his ranking for me since it is essential IMO to take care of the ball.

Buick :lol

That is so Peyton

Yea i Dislike manning but Favre is a. in his own right... His last game for the vikes before the saints killed him.. He had multiple chances to help his team tie it up and instead he makes bonehead play after bonehead play.... It was like watching Matt stafford in a time machine.

Let's not forget Favre won 3 straight MVP's & was the best QB in the 90's. I think the way it ended in GB & late in his career is clouding a lot of peoples judgement. He's top 5 all time IMO along w Montana, Elway, Brady & Manning.

No one has forgotten about his 3 straight MVPs.  And it has very little to do with the way his career ended.  Simply put, since the ring argument is a wash, I will take the guy who has 5 (soon to be 6) MVPs and 10 (soon to be 11) All Pro seasons over the guy who has 3 MVPs and 6 All Pro seasons.

So, while I still can acknowledge the greatness of Brett Favre, for someone to say he is "for sure" ahead of Peyton, is absolutely ridiculous.

Tom Brady? He just had his chance at a big performance and failed... against Peyton Manning.
How does anyone with any type of knowledge even type a response like this? Excuse me if you are trolling and are just saying ridiculous things to get a rise out of people.

*suggests that Peyton is a better reg. season QB than Favre*

"Well Peyton has more MVPs and Pro Bowl selections." Ummm... yeah, that's just further reinforcing what I already agreed on.

And I definitely agree that the whole 'retired, not retired, retired, not retired' thing has people all anti-Favre, and the NYJ/Minny experiments have all sullied the overall perspective of Favre.

Favre was the **** during the 90s. :hat Don't know if I can say he was the best, though. Elway, Favre, Young, and Aikman. 4 all timers w/ completely different skillsets and styles.

Brady is frightening in the 2 min drill , i dont think theres any debating that . Panthers fans must have been ******* themselves at the end of that game this year . its the reason why dude on the Dolphins was almost in tears of joy after getting the last second pick to seal it in week 15

Brady also put the team in field goal position to win against the Rams and Panthers in his first two super bowls

you have to just ignore Chester , or he wont stop

You worded your post in a way that fits your agenda.....the agenda of discrediting Peyton.

Saying Peyton is a better regular season quarterback than Favre implies that it is reversed in the playoffs.....which simply is not the case.  So if you have two type of seasons to analyze....one QB is markedly better in one, and they are essentially even in the other, why wouldn't you simply say that the guy who is markedly better in one is the better QB?

Because it doesnt fit your agenda.

Manning is Favre...Favre is Manning :lol

half srs tho...from an all time standpoint, they're (or should be) close to one another on "the list"

The thing that frustrates me in the conversation is how people offer rebuttals like "Oh, so just 1 game and he's knocked from glory? If he would have won, he'd be 2-1 in the SB, and he'd be argued CONFIDENTLY as the GOAT. But 1 game, and now he's buns?"

Nah, man, not 'buns'.

And...

Nah, man, not 'just one game'. It was the way he played. He looked soooo pedestrian. So Seattle's D was relentless, I get that. Who do you want him to play in the Super Bowl? The Crimson Tide? No matter who you play in the SB, it's going to be another top defense. No one's getting to the SB with a defense ranking at the bottom of the league for that year.

He flat out wasn't prepared.

And that's on him.
It's his fault both tackles are getting shoved back into his hip pocket every time he takes a drop back?

Don't you guys ever get tired of this discussion? Its so trite and mundane and we argue about it for like 7 months of the year with everyone making the same points over and over again.

for sure. just more in terms of a career as a whole.

peyton or favre to win a game? i'd take peyton without hesitation
