Is there anything I can do with an old pair of Nike running shoes?

Nike Stores(outlets/towns) have donation boxes.

When you say "old", do you mean that they're old and still DS, or old and beat-up?

If it's the latter, don't tell me that you're actually trying to find some way to get money for them.

Toss 'em on Craigslist and see if you can sell 'em to some skeevy old guy who likes the smell of feet.

donate if in ok shape, otherwise take to some of the other places mentioned. There are quite a few places that recycle them into running track, etc

Recycling would be the best course of action if you don't want to donate. Although donating is one of the best things you can do, give to people with less than you, one of the best feelings ever.
