so if you see that most black people that you have run into commit crimes of some sort, is it racist to conclude that the next black person you meet will have a higher chance of committing a crime?

I know a lot of people just JUMP and say yes, of course thats racism, but I dont think so. Its inductive logic. Its making a movement from what has been observed to what is the case. Its the basis for ALL science. Yes, I know that theyre probabilistically independent, and just because all other blacks may have done wrong, it does not follow that I will have a higher chance of doing wrong. I'm just saying that it is not unjustified for a person to believe something like that based on past observations or statistics.

Note: Yes, I'm familiar with the problem of induction, and its a really tough issue to deal with, but anybody that rejects inductive logic will have a really, reallyy tough time with the rest of their lives given how often it is used (its the basis of probability theory....)

It would be racist if one believes that Blacks have a bio-genetic predisposition to commit crime.

Your logic is flawed its not because all black people are criminals its because you associate yourself with only black people that are criminals, your sample size is to small or your sample size is an abnormality. I find it hard to believe that you or anyone is only associated with black people that are criminals in todays world your president is black ****...

^ this, or maybe not racist but at least grossly stereotypical

no no no im not saying that this is the case for me lol. I'm talking from an inductive logic perspective. IF you only associated with black people that are criminals, would it be reasonable to conclude that all black people are criminals?

Think of it this way: if you only saw cows that had black and white spots, would it be fine to conclude that all cows have black and white spots?

A more extreme example is: If the sun has risen every single day in history, is it fine to conclude that it will rise tomorrow? (it might not...)

this...but the socioeconomic climate of american society makes black more likely to commit crime. Crime is usually linked to lower socioeconomic conditions, which in this country happens to include blacks and latinos.

so yea, if i'm walking down the street late at night and i see a group of goons walking i'm clutching the burner.

it would be very stereotypical to assume the next black person that you come across will have a higher chance of committing a crime

Also white collar crimes that are perpetrated often times go unpunished think enron , madoff hell i would say socially  white collar  have  more of an effect i.e.
wiki-leaks steals information from many government and they are called protectors of justice
tyron steals from 7/11 to feed his family and he's a criminal
Hackers steal all sorts of information i.e. credit card numbers and sell it off to the Russians the result is they get jobs from the government
javale robs someone at the ATM  but he's the criminal

but of-course crime only perpetrated by the blacks

It is, because you are also neglecting to take note of the times your conclusion is not true. Like nobody is robbed, raped, or otherwise victimized 100% of the time they come across a black person, or any other social group they choose to stereotype. But if it happens once, that once trumps all the times that nothnig happened in their mind, and becomes the basis from which they induce. So there is still a level of picking and choose that take place, and no doubt in America we are classically conditioned to always associate and remember the negative with regard to some groups.
