Serious topic. Does this character bother you? Sure I know its entertainment and a classic, but I have to wonder sometimes when you see this guy bouncing around on his dinosaur... eating mushrooms (at least its not a tomato or something) does it rub you or members of your family the wrong way? Like I have family members who HATE the characterization of African Americans in stereotypical fashion in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and even older relatives that question donkey kong clutching a white princess hurling barrels even though Ive enjoyed both games because I figure its just entertainment. but yea just wondering your opinion "mama mia!" "itsa meeeee"

There are no negative connotations associated with the Mario character, therefore I don't see how any Italian could be offended.

Now if this was about the "Godfather" movies, then I'd see your point.

Mario is a hero and a positive character overall, but he is an Italian caricature. I wouldn't be surprised if Italians were offended.
