Itouch 3 gen?

About what time of the year does Apple announce their new products...Itouch?
I ask this because I don't want to wait for the Itouch 3gen. if they wont release it this year.

We should be seeing something around Sept/Oct (MacWorld) timeframe. From what insiders have confirmed, it will now have a 64gig drive capacity, and afaster processor. I also hear a camera but, that has yet to be confirmed. Supposedly, Apple spent the first two quarters of this year buying up 64 and 128gigflashdrives.

I also heard rumblings that Apple is coming out with a nine inch tablet with a 128 gig drive capacity. This tablet is suppose to replace the iTouch the sameway the iTouch replaced iPod Video. Rumor has it that it will be Hi Def capable.

. Also, the 2nd Gen iTouch will probably get lower inprice again. That is the gamble you take with Apple. That is why as a rule of thumb; you never buy a new Apple product until after MacWorld.

might as well never buy any apple products. don't buy anything before macworld, but then don't buy anything before ipod lets rock event.. but thendon't buy anything before WWDC. this isn't just apple, it's every company that makes gadgets. you'll have the newest thing but it'll onlybe new for 6 months until somebody bigger and better comes out.

It's a catch 22. If they weren't staying ahead of the power curve people would be crying about. Also, that is how they stay as thenumber one MP3 player/device seller. The minute their R&D team cooks up something new; they drop it. It keeps their name fresh, but it totally craps onthe consumers.

True but, in regards to the iPod/ iPod touch, most of the major upgrades have been historically announced at MacWorld or around the time of thatevent. They have to get that Christmas money from the consumers

The thing is, old products do not have to die out. People still use their 2nd generation Ipods, 1st generation Shuffles, Macbooks, etc.

Why would you be mad that R&D is constantly developing better gadgets for us, while lowering the price of previous models? Disappointed that you're notthe coolest kid out of your crew anymore with your Ipod Video that you got for Xmas?? Compare it to the car industry.

also, correct me if i'm wrong but.. isn't apple pulling out of macworld anyway? or was that a different conference. i remember them saying they werepulling out of something to focus on CES

What's the big deal about calling it an iTouch? It's just a shorter name like "All-Star XX3". That's better than saying white/red/blackXX3.
