1. Campbell's receivers led the league in dropped passes with 39. We repeat - ******** receivers dropped more passes than anyone else in football in 2008.
2. Receivers Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El both ranked in the top 10 in the NFL in dropped passes. Moss ranked second with 12 (behind only Cleveland's Braylon Edwards with 15), while Randle El was tied for ninth with nine drops.
3. Running back Clinton Portis only had six drops. Compared to Moss and Randle El that seems okay, but he was actually third in the league in percentage of dropped passes (17 percent).
4. Campbell was also in the top 10 in the NFL last season in passes defended with 50 - meaning if Campbell threw a "jump ball," more times than not, the defender beat the receiver on the play.
5. Campbell was sixth best in the league in percentage of overthrown passes. He overthrew his wideouts 18 times, which works out to 3.6 percent. Conversely, Derek Anderson of the Browns overthrew his receivers a league-worst nine percent of the time.
6. Campbell was second best in the NFL in underthrown passes (6.4 percent), trailing only Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans (4.9 percent). It should also be noted that Campbell attempted 126 more passes than the injury-prone Schaub. Oakland's JaMarcus Russell led the league in underthrown passes (16.5 percent).
7. Campbell was fifth in the NFL in QB hits with 47, and tied for third in quarterback knockdowns with 88. In fact, Campbell got knocked down more than 16 percent of the time he dropped back to pass, which was eighth most in the league.
8. In spite of all of this, Campbell was eighth in the NFL in quarterback accuracy at 85.7. This statistic factors in passes that are not thrown ahead or behind, overthrown or underthrown or out of bounds.

I as big of a Jason Campbell apologist you'll find. The hate on this man was extremely unwarranted ESPECIALLY by Skins "fans." Remember, for thefirst 8 games (when the skins were 6-2), folks in the media were saying he was a legit MVP candidate and penciled him in for a trip to Hawaii at the end of theyear. Dude was playing some GREAT football. That Pete Kendall blunder changed the fortunes of the whole season. Everything went downhill from there. The O-linecouldn't block for !$@+ as he year went on. Their age really began to show. It wasn't just Campbell who was effected, but also Clinton Portis. Checkhis numbers for the first half of the season in comparison to the last 6-8 games....

all that being said, this is a make or break year for JC. He knows this, the coaches know it, and the fans know it. His future here in DC totally hinges on himhaving a not a good season, but a GREAT season. He's in the same system for consecutive years, so no more excuses or tales of woe concerning how manyplaybooks he's had to learn....He's got all the tools to do well, and if he doesn't pan out in DC, someone will take a chance on him as a starterin 2010-11.

I think he did prove a little bit last year though, despite the Sanchez/Cutler campaigns. No reciever behind Moss aside from Thrash who had 4-5 good games didanything to help him.

I like Campbell, but if you watch the games you probably wouldn't expect those stats because all you focus on is how he holds onto the ball too long andmisses receivers when they are open so he dumps passes off to Portis all the time. I think he is a good QB though he just doesn't have the instincts of aBrady or Manning.

it all starts with upper management.. as long as the vinny cerrato dan snyder era comes to an end (which will never happen) ******** fans will be doomed toconsistent let downs and disappointments. vinny cerrato has proved time and time again that he is NOT capable of making decisions that will benefit the team inany way.

as much as id love to see jason campbell succeed, i just dont see it happening under an offensive line that has not made any improvements at all since the lastyear. the addition of derrick dockery, i hope will show its value and help campbell and portis from getting abused this season

the stats simply say that jason campbell is in fact a very accurate quarterback. specifically, by taking all of his passes into consideration, he was among thebest in terms of the ratio between underthrown/overthrown passes to completed passes.

He can be good nothing special tho win one playoff game a yr, but never the type to have the Superbowl riding on his right arm.
