jay is better imo and its not even close. jay has substance and flair. Dude is smart and clever and has splashes of humor/fun in his lyrics. nas is just substance and his beats are garbage most of the time. there aren't too many nas songs that I love. dude is clearly smart, but his music is just boring to me for the most part.

He is profound and was a child prodigy ain't no arguing that.


Jay is a very smart dude that surrounded himself with great producers with the intent of being mainstream.

Both got exactly what they wanted out of the rap game IMO.
