Clausen is playing for his next job and he knows it.
The key is to stay professional though. Dont be an %!# about the situation. If Cam offers anything over 75k do the deal if only cause dudes in the locker room will lose respect for you if you $$%+! and moan about a number for half of training camp.
It's not like Cam has a right to that number though.  If Cam !$#%$#% and moans about it, it's just as bad, if not worse since he hasn't played a snap.

I was under the impression that it was usually looked at like dudes with seniority, had a number in the pros for years had more of a say.

Everyone has a price for their number though.
All im saying is that if this is an issue for more than 2 days of training camp both dudes are going to be looked at funny. Cam may want the number and his salary prob guarantees he will get it. If its known around the locker room how much Cam offers for the number and its over 75k and Clausen doesnt take it. He will be looked at like a fool
My point is that Cam has to earn the respect of his teammates before they're going to make an issue of Clausen not giving his number to a rookie.  If it was a veteran that came to the Panthers, then yeah, but it's not like Cam's proven anything, #1 pick or not.

And where are you getting $75k from?

Agreed, Ace. Still think they shouldn't have passed on the likes of Dareus, PP, or AJ Green. Especially after investing a second-round pick on Clausen the year previous.

Based on the Wonderlic, Clausen has below average intelligence for an NFL QB. However, Cam Newton is actually dumber.

wonderlic score means nothing. just another stupid test that probably has nothing to do with playing football. however, Clausen is garbage, he only got 1 win out of 10 starts last year and had only 3 td's and 9 int's and never threw for more than 195 yards in a game. Clausen may start the season, to give Newton some time to learn more, but it wont be for long.

Carolina took a HUUUUUGE gamble with this pick, word to the Piston's drafting Darko; they'll either look really smart or really dumb

should have tried to trade (would atlanta have given up more to get to no.1 to get green instead of jones?)

and the biggest problem i have is they're going be in the running for the 1st pick again next year (soo the andrew luck sweepstakes)
