Jon Jones' No Good, Very Bad Day....

This story was posted two months ago:

"The officers are hitting the streets late at night, looking for clues, like decked out cars, loud exhausts and big groups."

The whole thing should have been avoided. With all the legal trouble Jones has been in, you'd think he would take extra care to not do anything that could be perceived as illegal.

Jones may be the best fighter in the world world but his new nickname is "series of unfortunate events".

Could've easily used uber, car pooled, hell take a bus. You have a potentially million(s) dollars waiting for you April 23rd and you just need to sit back and cool it. You're already a target with papers on you. Wth. Some folks never learn

Don't really know the law. But how is it a violation of parole when he hasn't pleaded innocent or guilty on all the charges. Any decent lawyer will knock that all down to a lesser offense that may go below what is deemed bad for his parole. Guilty until proven innocent? A warrant goes out on what seems like 5 normal traffic violations?

Either a target on his back or they're making him a punching bag/lesson for others. We hear of some crazy cases where the DA is basically using a particular case to win another election. Can't remember specifics but it was like a first offense for something minor and these people were getting thrown the book.

Violated his probation. Not parole.

He's lucky to be driving in the first place. He's a dummy for all the infractions going on with his car.

Yea they are owned by Viacom, they actually have higher ratings than the ufc and bellator allows their fighters to have their own sponsors.

This incident does not technically violate his probation, although it is possible but it is unlikely. Aside from the obvious that he has not been to court yet, his probation is for a DUI? Hit & Run? right? Which means driving infractions for speeding (which this case is technically all about) do not usually constitute a violation, the probationary period is just there so that he does not commit the same crime or crimes that are as serious as his previous, and at the eventual conclusion of his probation if he is clear and clean, then the judge can petition for his first case to be dropped / lessened / Sealed / whatever he agreed upon initially. Yes, every time his name is ran through those cop databases, his probation office will know. But, it is nothing serious enough to void an arrest or a violation. All those charges should be dropped to a moving violation and nothing more. A good lawyer can easily explain that a modded corvette can appear to and sound like it is taking of at a high rated speed to a novice.

Higher ratings on cable but let's not act like Bellator is the better product. They're not even pulling in PPV numbers anywhere CLOSE to the UFC.

There's a reason people talking about UFC at MSG and Bellator at Barclay's. Because it's two completely different ball games.

I'd rather the ufc go to barclays since its a newer arena. The food sucks though and the train ride home would be way more crowded.

Yea I know I was just saying fighters in bellator actually make pretty decent money. Which is why fighters like Ben Henderson, Phil Davis and Matt Mitrione went to bellator after their contract was up.

We're not talking model citizen

shoot half these athletes y'all idolize aren't model citizens

We talking about if the UFC needs him and the answer is yes. He's one of the greatest, if not the greatest, fighter ever who's ENTERING his prime and the UFC doesn't need him? That's insane.
Is he good for the UFC? Absolutely. Does the UFC "need" him? Lol...

They don't really need him, tho.

He's not even their biggest star, :lol

Dude was stripped of the belt and suspended and the UFC went on to have 2 of the biggest PPV's in company history while he was sitting at home.

They'll do fine w/ or w/o him.

Thank you. Repped.

Jon Jones remains in custody in Albuquerque, N.M. detention center today. Jones was placed under arrest yesterday for violating probation from last year's hit and run case. He is scheduled to appear before a judge tomorrow at 8am local time, at which point he could be released on own recognizance or bond set. Jones, 28, is still scheduled to fight Daniel Cormier for the UFC light heavyweight championship at UFC 197 on April 23 in Las Vegas.

Long term let's see how this plays out. Conor already lost so his stock dropped. Look at Ronda and even holly.

At the end of the day, good and exciting fighters we'll always flourish

Conor's stock didn't drop at all, plus, Conor's stock could plummet and he'd still be a bigger star than Jon Jones.

UFC 196 did more buys than Jon Jones' last 3 PPV's combined.

It seemed as if JBJ came out of the whole DUI pretty well considering he was getting cheered @ one of the recent pressers, but if dude continues to put himself in situations like this, no one is gonna give a **** about him, regardless of his skill level.

You don't see the long term effects of Conor losing? He had opportunities at the LW and WW belts lined up and he lost. That's two potential big pay days lost.

Y'all looking into things short term man

That is an L ! :lol

I have seen people with a lot more serious cases violating all type of probationary restrictions and not be arrested. I hate to mention it, but he is black, a celebrity, cocky and lives in a state that does not accommodate a person like him. Especially in the judicial system. They are probably trying to make him an example, being that he is a high profile black figure.

Conor could fight my Grandmother and it's gonna do 1.2M+ buys, :lol

What big pay days did he lose?

He's gonna fight Nate again and it'll most likely do even bigger #'s than the first.

But him vs Robbie Lawler/GSP would have been much bigger. And I'm a huge Conor Stan.

But we talking JBJ, not Conor. Saying the UFC doesn't need him is laughable imo. There's a reason he was reinstated in the first place. He's had nothing but issues with the UFC since he started and they're still with him. But agree to disagree.

Yea, he's a great fighter and I'm sure they'd like to have him around.

But when you're on the sidelines and the company goes on to have the biggest year in its 20+ year history...

:lol

W/ all this being said I hope he stops putting himself in ****** spots and continues to fight because he's fun to watch.

Yeah but you're acting like Jon Jones doesn't hold his own when it comes to PPV buys. If you're using that logic than the UFC doesn't need anyone besides conor.

My point is the UFC doesn't need anyone, they're the UFC.

There's always someone waiting to take the #1 spot.

Also, besides the DC fight, JBJ's numbers aren't that great.

JBJ/Gus did like 300k.

Pretty trash considering he's one of the top fighters on the planet.

Chuck and Randy left, the UFC is fine.

Brock goes back to WWE, GSP "retires", the UFC is fine.

JBJ is doing lines off a strippers booty, the UFC is fine.

Conor could get washed and retire and the UFC would still be fine.
