Jordan 11's fraying

Ok,

So I put on my AJ11's today for only about the 6th time since owning them from December 2012, and noticed some fraying around the seam View media item 479426going around the sides of the shoe.

I just wondered if this was normal, what may of caused it to happen, and if it would be better to scissor it off and shorten it to lessen the risk of it getting worse?

if there is fraying, ALWAYS use a new super sharp razor blade to cut it off
