jordan 5's bar code help

Hey is there a way to check the bar code on a box to see if the box is legit?  I tried using a phone app but they are not always reliable.  I also tried calling Foot locker and Nike and they could not help with looking anything up with a bar code #.  Seems pretty crazy that they can't look up there own information.

its the font, the shape and the size of the box that people use to determine authenticity.
