These being available in a size 13 for retail on the restock was too good to pass up. I think this is a pair that down the road I would look back and hate that I missed out on being able to scoop for retail. Looking forward to checking out the materials in person.

shape is on point and the materials are definitely better than your typical jordan GR, but that jumpman/AIR on the back still looks off to me. I like that JB is at least using some nicer materials on their GR's recently.

The black leather is softer to the touch than the white. Also the tongue is lower on the DE.
The NA makes a difference though as you can see in the rear shot. Just looks nicer.

they are look sleeker in hand but probably because they are still tied up. haven't worn them yet.

I think people fail to realize the EP on DE are meant to mimic the actual skin of an African/Asian elephant. They nailed it too because it looks just like the color and texture of the elephants I’ve seen at the Zoo. I wouldn’t say AMM and DE are no print cousins because the DE do have a faint print on them on most pairs. It’s just not obvious thick black lines like typical EP.

Typically I'm totally with you, Nike Air or bust, mainly on the OG colorways. I broke my rule on this one since the quality and shape is so nice.

So, since these are on topic with respect to shape and similarity to Black/Cements...I had a midsole and heel tab replacement completed on my '01 pair. I finally got them back after a long wait.

Quick notes of opinion...I never copped any of the previous Black/Cement because of the overall shape and elephant print issues. I DID cop the Desert Elephants cause they looked fire to me from day one (the initial rendering and then the actual release version). And also because they reminded me of the '01's and 94's. Anyway....without further ado, some eye candy. Midsole was painted sail to give the aged look and keep separate from the test. Threw in some shots with my 99 IV's as i was looking at both earlier. DEIII box present cause I was comparing;

^^^ I got my 2001s done recently too.

This new shape is better than the 2001-2003 and from all of the pictures I've seen online, the 94 too. Been saying this on NT for the past two years.

No way they were gonna do a perfect shoe.
