Ive recently got back into Jordans and pretty much shoes in general.

I got a pair of cement 4s and wore them once to the store and came back and they are creased like I balled in them for a week. I got the grapes and it looks like that same plastic like material. I understand shoes are going to show signs of wear that is cool but creasing so much after wearing them so little is a bit unfortunate.

Whats up with this material? Is this the material theyve always used on the 4s and 5s?

I remember getting Js back in middle school and rocking them hard and not showing wear like these new ones. Granted they werent the 4s or 5s.

This is old news, really. But I couldn't agree more. Quality is absolute trash now. I've found myself copping more Nikes as of late anyway

As long as every release sells out in hours they won't upgrade the materials. Instead they'll raise the prices before the quality

I hope Jordan Brand realizes that their name is slowly being more and more associated with BAD quality sneakers. It's so strange to me that they are doing this when they built their name on top quality. I'm a fan of the silhouettes and I am a regular customer, enjoy the shoes, but, it would be sweet to get some original quality some day.

Its too bad. Its a bummer when you drop $160+ on some sneakers and you get them and realize the quality.

Very true.

If you look at any other shoes on the market with the same price tag, you're going to get top shelf, grade A materials.

Same, Im not going to lie im starting to feel like a sucker. I love the shoe design but the quality leaves something to be desired. My main thing is this plastic leather type material. It looks great when they are deadstock but then once you rock em its another story. I dont like to be negative but I just wanted to see what others thought.

I've always said that the reason for the company to release BS quality is because Mike isn't playing in these retros in the NBA anymore. Once he retired the 3rd time the quality slowly started decreasing and these were meant for casual wear instead.

"Quality inspired by the greatest player ever" well he isn't playing anymore time to save a buck

hey new guy here, not new to the site just a new member, an long time sneaker lover and collector, but I agree that for $160 these shoes can be made better quality, then on the other hand I still buy em, its complex, but I always loved jays not for the hype, but because I really felt as a kid I would be able to fly like mike haha,,that ship has sailed.. still love the shoes though, my first pair of jays was the Carolina 10's and I beat those to death but they were built like tanks, now I use sneaker shields, waterproof spray and the shoe still don't last as long, paint cracking etc, but nothing these days are made with the quality of the good old days.. wow I  sound  like a old man, sorry for the rant.
