Seriously i was thinking about this last night going through my Mobb collection and the only other artists or groups that I can think of that have some of thebest singles in rap was Outkast, Tribe, Pac & maybe Common. Nas & Jay being great artists with many classic singles they have also released varioussubpar singles throughout their career.[Sunshine, Girl Bestfriend, Nastradamus, Hip-Hop Is Dead ....]

Now when I look at Mobb Deep's singles I don't really see many artists touchin em, killed it both on the R&B collabo's and straight hardcoremusic.

Take a look

4.5/5 Beat is what makes the track impressive though.

RealGangstazMobbDeep.jpg

Could have done with out it 3.5/5 this was back when everybody was on the Lil Jon bandwagon.

ThrowYourHandszMobbDeep.jpg

3.5/5

Win Or Lose

Alchemist went in on the production 4/5, actually now that im analizing, through the latter part of Mobb Deep's career the beat is actually what made theirsingles great. Compared to their first 3 albums where the lyrics and production both were nice.

HaveAPartyMobbDeep.jpg

Soild 4/5

PutEmInTheirPlaceMobbDeep.jpg

Track had signs of a vintage Mobb Deep, even the beat sounded like some sh-- that could've been on Hell On Earth.4/5

Is there any artist im overlooking, can't really count BIG... in the newer generation i'd say Tip has had some overall solid singles. Maybe im beingbiased but the Mobb doesn't really have any standout weak singles, 90% of the singles throughout their career have ranged from solid to great.

Nice post. I was just posting on Twitter about how the rain outside made me put on some Mobb.

Not only do the have nice #@@ singles but they own the title for Hot Beat to Wack Beat Ratio in Hip-Hop.

Oh yea, I'm listening to "Return Of The Mac" right now

I was with you until "Hey Luv"....I had no idea "Temperature's Rising" was a single. Please don't tell me there's avideo.......

NT always trying to make Mobb Deep out to be the be all end all of Hip Hop.

Only happens on here. On my word I've never seen people OD on Mobb Deep like they do on here. But then again, I came up in an era where cats were official. If you talked the talk, you had to walk the walk.

So I guess these guys are role models for every cat who loves to talk tough but ain't. And I would imagine there's a LOT of cats on NT that can relateto that. Or maybe y'all are just facinated by this "grimy" world you believe they live in. I know that world well. I don't need these cats toput me on to it.

"Survival of The Fittest" 5/5? "Hell On Earth" 5/5? Preposterous. Good records. Hardly perfect. "Hell On Earth" is almost boringto me.

"Hey Love" 4.5/5? What?

You posted some good records. "Burn" was a @!%$*@! BANGER.

But "Title for Best Singles In Rap"? That's groupie talk. Straight up.

It gets to a point on here, where when the same cats worship the same artists over and over again, starting lame threads, can you really take anythingthey're saying seriously? Are you even capable of being objective and looking at things rationally and intelligently?

Me thinks not.

Yea there's alot of overrating going on in this thread. Shook Ones is the only classic single that's ever come out of the Mobb camp. QuietStorm is another. But all those singles dropped on Jive and G-Unit. Garbage. Beat hot or not those songs were garbage. I would've liked to heard some realrappers hop on that Get Away beat. Mobb Deep would be proud because no one outside of NT would say such nonsense.

They did pretty good no doubt, but I dont believe they have the best singles.

Come on now, first off i heard you said many moons ago that you havent really listened to Mobb Deep's music so how are you able to speak ontheir singles, Burn trash? G.O.D Pt 3 trash? Get Away trash? [Max B] What are these preposterous words [Max B] Me overrating stuff coming from someone sayingRick Ross' first album was a classic??

I'll admit there might be some bias in a few of my ratings but you can't disclaim their singles. Im sure your not familiar enough to have a seriousdiscussion about Mobb Deep's music... you probably think Infamous was their first album.

Yeah thinking about it Hey Love was rated a bit too high

I don't get all caught up in, "Yea, well he's not killing all those guys he's talkin' about in the streets, though!"

If it's a hot song, it's a hot song. No need to anaylze their non-musical lives in such detail.

I'm not holding anything against anyone (Not just Mobb Deep) if we, surprisingly, find out they're not pushing weight, doing time, orpullin' triggers.

Naw UnclePhil just likes to discredit anything I make a thread about. I could make a thread saying Illmatic was ahead of its time and grumpy Philwill say he grew up in an era where Frank Sinatra was ahead of his time talk about stories when he saw at concerts Chuck Berry duck walking on stage.. son issuch an ole head.

I never said Ross album was classic? How long has it been? 2 or 3 years and you still throwing that out there as if its fact. Its been so longdudes are actually finally coming around to how hot that album is. Whatever on that comment.

And you're right. I don't bump Mobb's music. But we're speakingon singles right? If so, I don't agree. You telling me in order to judge Mobb Deep's singles I gotta bump their music? If anything my opinion is morevalid since i'm not a fan. I've heard everyone of those songs posted in this thread and there's nothing classic about any of them except Shook Onesand Quiet Storm. And this coming from a dude who's not biased. Who don't F with their music. But I can't deny how I felt when I first seen theShook One and Quiet Storm videos. I Thought that was the illest @$*. You don't get that feeling from singles. So when I see you bring up @$* like Hey Luv(Inoticed you've brought it down to 3.5. I agree) and Have a Party? You telling me its on par with Quiet Storm and Shook Ones? That's the differencebetween classic and garbage.

I guess you read my post to fast but I didn't say Burn or Get Away were garbage. I said singles dropped on Jive Records and G-Unit was GARBAGE. Was Burnand Get Away dropped on G-Unit or Jive? I don't think so. You gotta sit back and look at it from a perspective of just a fan of hip hop. The title for bestsingles in rap? Hell even though he only dropped two albums BIG's singles>>>>>Mobb Deep's singles and it doesn't even compare.

Okay point taken, appreciate you actually making a valid argument instead of that other clown going on silly rants. But i think you shouldfamiliarize yourself with tracks like Temperatures Rising.... great mellow track with good story telling. Don't know how you don't think Survival ofThe Fittest isn't a classic.. that track has been sampled so many times not saying that makes it a classic but still... Win Or Lose, another mellow jointthat has ill production. Me pointing out that you not being familiar with Mobb's music is more so to say that you would have to hear their body of work toappreciate some of their singles... its like with Em... if all a person did was listen to Em's singles and not check his full albums mosts people wouldconclude he's trash or overrated

This dude illphlip or w/e his name is a moron. Always tries to hate on Mobb Deep like they are garbage and defends his **$@%# points by saying "oh theywere fake" or "oh they had a bad influence on children" .... Calm down Bill O'reilly. They have two of the greatest hip hop albums ofall-time, and yes, some of the best rap singles period. They represent a landmark in not just QB or NYC.. but hip hop in general, no matter how much you wannahate on them.

No.
You're talking about singles so it's just about singles. Eminem is a great artist but if you put Eminem in the title I laugh at you. So when you saythis about Mobb all a person has to do is listen to the singles they don't have to hear their body of work. With that said.

Outkast, Jay-Z, 2Pac>>>Mobb (singles wise)

I've been on the internet since 98 and Mobb Deep has always been an internet favorite. On the contrary, Niketalk is one of the only placesthat I see Mobb get hated on so much. Like these young cats mostly know Mobb Deep from g-unit and the Jay-Z beef. I never see them get hated on this muchanywhere else.
