Kinect for 360 worth it?

Sup y'all, looked around could't find anything but...
I'm looking into getting a Kinect, or maybe the Wii, but more towards the Kinect cuz I already own xbox.

I'm wondering now that its been out for a while, and there's probably some more games, is it worth it?

How fun is it? Is it easy to use, even for my parents?

And what do you think the best games are, and how do they compare to the Wii games. Thanks.

I played it once, it was fun..I don't know about long term though...like said above, the people I know don't seem to enjoy it in the long haul, to this point at least

I'm copping one for my niece and nephew for christmas, I'll probably have ton of fun with them with it

Just like the wii, I see it as being fun with the family or with a group of friends. I personally don't own it but I have tried it at a friends house. It is kinda fun. But honestly, I don't think I would go out of my way to purchase one now.

I pretty much felt how everyone else feels about it until recently...they've been making huge steps to make it a lot better. I mainly use it for the voice functions now.
Couldn't find the video I wanted to post but the Forza 4 Head tracking is pretty dope. I still think we're only tapping the Kinects full potential.

when i first got it, i played with it the first day, then never touched it.

recently though with the new updates, and the new xbox dashboard,. its amazing! and not only that is it essential to my xbox, being able to talk to your xbox through kinect is such a cool feature. and it can only get better in the future.. look up kinect hacks and see the amazing things it can do

Wow, Some of these hacks are incredible, the things they are doing with this is beyond creative.. I'll share the one's I liked.

I got the Kinect when I bought my 360 bundle last year. I really have only played Kinect Adventures and nothing else. The new Kinect sports looks fun because you can play football and other games...But idk, I wasn't sold with body movement games.

theyre just now starting to make games outside of the "dance" or "workout" mold

sega just dropped a horror type game for kinect

same type of feel as house of the dead

it looks pretty amazing (for a kinect game)

i have a kinect, its decent, the problem isnt the kinect, its the lack of decent games

but i feel like after this holiday season theyll be making a bunch of kinect games

theyre being real innovative with using the kinect technology, how to move and make movements

they got a rainbow 6 kinect game coming out too, i think...

so if youc an get it for cheap, grab it, if not, wait until more dope games drop for it.

we got our last christmas for the family. we love it. it responds so much better than the ps3 move. my oldest tried the ps3 and hated it. this responds to everything that you do. we also had a friend over for new years. after a few drinks we decided to try Kinect Sports. hilarirty followed soon after. our kids absolutely love it.

When I have get togethers at my place, the kinect is a blast for everyone.  Other than that, I never really ever used it by myself.

Dance Central is amazing and I still play that one. I don't really feel like most of the games are worthwhile to be honest. If you ever enjoyed DDR games and such, then yes, get a Kinect. Don't get a kinect if you think you can play a shooter like modern warfare on it, or a game like Sonic.

When I see hacks like that, all I can do is turn and say, "Damn, Sony.."

M$ wanted to break into motion controlled gaming and accidentally came up with some ground breaking tool that damn nears cures cancer, and all Sony did was bite Nintendo.

well, my theory is that nintendo pushed the wii out (which was underwhelming) to beat the rush of "motion controlled gaming"

which is why it came out quicker, has worse graphics/performance, and is thought of as the lesser of the 3 systems

they just wanted to jump infront of everyone and succeeded.


meanwhile, sony and microsoft were competing for the "premier" motion controlled crowd, going 1 v 1 since wii already played its hand


sony, unlike microsoft, didnt innovate the already released technology

imma guess both microsoft and sony had controllers similar to the wii initially

but sony said "eh, we have a ps3, which is better than the xbox.....and we have what wii has with a better system than the wii.....well be alright"

whereas microsoft said "okay, everyone has the wii controller...what can we do beyond that?"

and boom, the kinect was born.

( also, microsofts foresight to make all their addtional equipment be bought and added separately was genius....a little exploitive, but genius...they dont need to update their hardware to add things to it. i.e. detachable HDD, etc.)

honestly, i get the most use out of my kinect being a mic

no nerdy headset

plus, now xbox live has a youtube app you can record and upload on.....and kinect video chat is dope as %#+$.....

like i said, if you got the money and you can get a deal on it...do it, you cant lose...

but if you want to play alot of games on it, just expect them to be first generation quality.....because they are.

only game i found that to be true with is the biggest loser (my girl copped the kinect and a couple games for it)

the dance revolution games are very very very on point...no lag whatsoever
