Based on the plus / minus of the Lakers since the trade. Sounds about right.

Closing 5 is likely DS/DLo/AR/Bron/AD

Beasley, Wenyen and Vando being that far off in +/- could be a bad omen in the playoffs if they need to rely on them for heavy minutes or production

Not sure it happens, but Rui has earned playing as much if not more than Vando.

It’s why I do think the Tristan Thompson signing is a huge hedge for the Lakers. No I don’t expect him to be a game changer. Just a minutes eater at times.

If AD is in foul trouble in a game, they will need to throw every look in the book to claw out an extra quarter of time to preserve AD. If he gets in foul trouble in the first, probably need to shut him down until late in the second quarter just to avoid betting on the guys they have late.

Let’s just hope Ham & the staff can correctly spot and change matchups for advantage game 2 game and series to series.

This is where coaching is highlighted and so important. Let’s see how the first year head coach is when he’s running his own shop in the playoffs.

Wolves have no choice but to play Gobert for the play-in without Naz Reid and Jaden McDaniels.

Just isn’t enough guys on the Wolves to absorb 3 high minutes guys being out.

As for how to play them, simple, attack the paint often on offense.
Defense is make them have to be complex in their offense. The more they have to do, the worse they will be. Especially short handed.

The argument for running it back next year, regardless of what happens in the next few weeks. (meaning top 4 guys, then tweaking 5-10 in rotation, likely bringing back 2-3 of the 5-10 guys);

4 teams made a big trade at the deadline in the West:
Suns, Lakers, Wolves, Mavs
(Clippers added Russ through buyout and can’t retain him unless he plays for $5mil. Which who knows)

Record of those teams since 2/8:
Lakers 18-9 (1st in the West)
Suns 15-11 (4th in the West)
Wolves 13-12 (T-7th in the West)
Mavs 9-18 (12th in the West)

Total +/-
Lakers +118 (2nd in the West)
Suns +94 (4th in the West)
Wolves 0 (10th in the West)
Mavs -26 (11th in the West)

Offensive / Defensive Rating Ranks in West
Lakers: 8th / 1st
Suns: 6th / 4th
Mavs: 4th / 13th
Wolves: 10th / 8th

Individual Players ORtg / DRtg
DLo: 120.4 (1st) / 108.2 (4th)
Bron: 118.9 (2nd) / 105.8 (2nd. Bamba’s 81mins is 1st)
Reaves: 118.1 (3rd) / 108.9 (6th)
AD: 116.7 (4th) / 108.5 (5th)

There’s enough assets to get someone to hedge Bron and AD missing games. And fill most of the outstanding needs.
