**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2026-2027 offseason begins

Idris Elba Ugh GIF

There were definitely disagreements but that doesn't equate to the "boss treating him bad".

They tried making this narrative but it isn't working.

Both sides simply just butted heads.

They defenitely butted heads and had different visions. But I never got the vibe that they had bad blood. You can disagree and not see eye to eye and still be cordial. He played 8 seasons straight with the Lakers and willingly chose to come back multiple times to this same front office and had his longest stretch with a single team here. Sometimes things just run their course.

Agreed. 8 years is a long time to deal with a team if there was really any bad blood.

Remindee: Trashing our FO isn't slurping Bron.

Remindee: Disagreeing with you trashing Bron isn't slurping Bron.

Remindee: If your best rebuttal is 'Get off his nuts', you actually have nothing and you're just replying to give yourself your own participation trophy.

Acknowledging Lebron's 8 years here, including a championship + FMVP, that's not slurping.

That's it.
That's all.
Good night.

Philly ain't winning no damn title in 2 years but whatevs.
Not our problem.
I like our squad better, top to bottom.
Not saying we're winning a chip in 2 years, but I like us.

I know this LeBron vs. Lakers narrative is gonna drag on for a while, but personally I think all the finger pointing is way overblown.

The guy put out a statement saying he still wanted to play and compete for championships. Whether you agree with his belief that it couldn’t be done in LA is a separate conversation, but it’s pretty clear that’s how HE saw it. So HE left.

It doesn’t have to mean someone was wrong. The Lakers don’t have to be the bad guys, and LeBron doesn’t have to be either. Sometimes it’s just time to move on…. it is what it is.

The Los Angeles Lakers quietly built a roster flawlessly designed around Luka Doncic.

This Hot Hand Theory video essay breaks down how Walker Kessler, Austin Reaves, Quentin Grimes, Colin Sexton, and JJ Redick fit around Luka’s pick-and-roll creation, passing, shooting, and offensive control.

We examine why Kessler may be the ideal center for Luka, how Reaves can attack the advantages Luka creates, and why the Lakers’ 2026 offseason looks much stronger when viewed through the goal of building the perfect Luka team.

In this video:

  • Why Walker Kessler fits Luka Dončić so well
  • How the Lakers can maximize Luka’s offense
  • Why Austin Reaves and Quentin Grimes matter
  • How JJ Redick can shape the Lakers’ rotation

I'm so glad Bron got the break up out of the way and didn't string the team-fanbase along. I don't think the Lakers wanted to break up with him publicly.

Good night.
The convo between LeBron and Rich the evening of July 1st….

Bron: I love Luka but damn, me and him are pretty much the same player. I’m just the old version and they gotta build around him. It sucks but I get what LA tryna do. I need the ball in my hands too.

Klutch: You know what to do King. Gotta try and win it elsewhere. No disrespect to Walter and Jeanie. I love them too but it’s time to take your talents to….

Bron: Philly. Sorry to cut you off bro

Klutch: Say less. We’ll milk the clock til after the end of the World Cup so WE get the spotlight.

Bron: Say no more

This is the right move for Bronny and Klutch.

It would be smart for them to not bring the father-son circus to Philly and instead let Bronny grow to be his own man.

It would benefit the James family legacy to be the first father and son ever to win championships with the same franchise albeit separately.

Uh No

Their ISO guard talent is fantastic but so is ours (Probably better off Luka alone).

Personally think our roster is a bit more well rounded then theirs, on paper at least.

Break up was definitely mutual doe imo.

Philly is not beating NY in the East and the Lakers are not escaping SA or OKC in the West.

Put down the “Lakers/Sixers in the Finals” pipe dream because it’s never happening. Unless Pelinka pulls a rabbit out of his ***

The West getting weaker can work to our advantage a little as well
