LA - Santa Monica attractions...What to do...

I will be in the LA - Santa Monica area for basically 3-4days vacationing with family in May. I'm trying to locate some must see shoe boutiques and what not around that area. Any feed back is appreciated!

Go to 3rd street promenade and the Pier when in Santa monica. Will be walking around for a couple hours so wear some comfy shoes. lots of places to eat there too.
