Days are looong gone. Ever since they(footlocker,footaction,champs I believe) put the limit(think it's $500 a month) on how much employees can spend at a discounted price, "hookups" became a thing of the past.

Yeah and we all got older. I look at these young dudes behind the counter like man, I know he could hook it up if he wanted too. I used to have a FTL connect, and a 40% discount because I was an Assistant manager at Kinney shoes. Every release, copped.

As you get older priorities change, time off will become far more valuable then discounted prices.

When I first started working I was all about overtime. Now, I'd rather have the time off to spend with family and stay home

When I checked this morning from the west coast (I didn't wake up before 11AM EST) and saw these I was surprised. I question how limited these actually are. Did Nike actually make similar volumes to the past 3-4 releases that are sitting? If yes, do the retailers have the option of taking less? If so then Nike sells more through their own retail channel.

Personally I like the XIV, just never been a fan of any Laney color way regardless of model.

But glad everyone who wants to buy has that option.

With the last 5 Jordan's now being very available (exception of the OVOs) and the foamposites also not being sold out immediately, are the resellers moving on since they're holding these kicks longer, or being forced to return them? I'll be really interested to see the XIIIs and then the XI holiday release

I think Nike has upped production numbers. Back in 2011-2012, any retro that would drop would be an instant sell-out, and a nice profit could be had off every release. Now, that just doesn't happen. The best example we can use is the holiday XI's since the demand for those is really high. Granted certain colorways of the XI's are more sought after than others, but the differences aren't large. For the holiday XI's, the resale for every release every year has been less and less. Columbias can be had for close to retail, where as earlier holiday XI releases fetch more. I think the major factor is increased production, although colorway preferences do make a difference.

Also, it could be that the most famous/in-demand models have been retroed, so the ones being retroed now aren't as in-demand.

Retail price has to play a part as well.  It's difficult to spend $170/$175/$190/$210 on Jordan's these days, especially when there are releases every week.

Every week there's a new release that I consider getting but my pockets ain't deep like that

You got Js averaging $170-220 before tax, Foams averaging $230 before tax, Forces for bout $110-200, then it's fall now so Tims in demand in some territories and they're $190 before tax plus numerous other releases like Air Maxes, etc all dropping simultaneously

I know ppl who are still playing catch up getting clothes to match the low 6s, the Gucci AND Olive Foams who passed on the 14s because there's too much stuff releasing in the blink of the eye and it's early October when a lot of bills are due

I copped these and the Nike duck boots in a 3 day span.... Definitely chilling out until the maroon 6s

These are still sitting at some shoe stores in the Bay Area... Spoke to some employees they were limited but not super limited... A boutique only got 2 per size when they usually get 4-6 per size on super GR. by those standards these were limited GR.
