Laptop help

I'm in the market for a laptop right now most I wanna spend is 500. I need something that can copy files quick and not take 30 mins to copy a large file from point a to point b. Screen dosent have to be big 15-13 is fine if somebody can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

I know Lenovo and Asus makes good laptops, haven't looked in a while so not sure what the models are these days. And if you're concerned about drive speed then you should get one with a SSD or just buy a SSD separately and install it

How will you be copying the files? If its usb, try to find a laptop with usb 3.0 ports.

Had mine for 4 years. Other than upgrading the hard drive & RAM, it did its job well.

When you're talking about transferring files, do you mean over the internet or with a USB cable?

For the price, I think that Acer laptop is a good deal. You'll have to get used to Windows 8.1 though if you haven't used it before. IMO, the touch screen option is a must when using 8.1. I'm not sure how Microsoft thought people would use it with only a mouse & keyboard.

USB and say I downloaded a file and need to extract it to my desktop my current computer takes forver to extract files from folders

I'm really thinking about pulling the trigger on it theres also another one called the Acer aspire 471p but its a smaller screen and has i3 instead of an i5

I have an acer. I like it & havent had many problems.

Its a little frail compared to others though.

Screen size is a personal preference. Personally, I've liked having a 14" laptop since I carry it to work a lot and also use it on my desk to run my dual monitors so I want something smaller. 15.6" is pretty standard. I wouldn't go with anything less than an i5 personally.

The file transfer speed you're talking about is probably a combination of your processor speed & bus speed (USB 2.0). Computers start slowing down after a couple years, so I would bet on that.

Haha I can't sell it now I don't got a new computer yet. And I'm just gonna give it to my pops after anyways he's using one of those small mini laptops with like 7 inch screen.
