Laptop problem

I was watching the Star Trek movie on my laptop and suddenly it went black. I turned off the laptop and tried restarting it. The screen shows up for a secondthen goes black. However when I come closer to the screen, I can somewhat see what's on the screen. Did it just overheat or do I have to replace a bulb?

Any help? I have a Lenovo laptop.

could be the lamp or you just pushed a wrong button. don't believe the geek squad when they tell u a new screen cost $1500 install'd.
