I've had 2 Sonys and both of them broke right after the 1 year Manufactures warrenty was up and I could never find the parts to fix it because they were always discontinued. Now all my computers are apple and i love em.

you know, i've always considered sonys the "apple" of the windows OS world. the first thing i noticed was that you said you're getting it from best buy. chances are, the markups are REALLY high compared to other sites like amazon, newegg, or sony directly.
what you want to keep an eye out for is deals. seriously, electronics such as desktops and laptops have so many deals that it's very bad to buy it directly from the site without any prior research. i highly suggest you sign up for sony's newsletters and/or promotions (they should send them out daily via e-mail). most often than not, you will find a laptop that's on sale or has a great price. it may not match EXACTLY what you're looking for, but if you're willing to make minor adjustments, you can get a great laptop (sony makes nice ones) for a great value. happy hunting!
