Laptop Users ...

I like Asus products. My Asus of the past few months (12GB RAM, 256 GB SSD) is nice and slick.

have a Sony that I bought in 2010 and an ASUS from 2011 laptop with Windows 7 and it's still running smooth. I DL and stream like crzay and have never got any viruses, slowdowns, overheat or needed any repairs. Only thing I did was max out the ram and update the video card. Both laptop still runn like a champ.

I got a macbook from around 2011 as a gift, used it for a semester, and its collecting dust. Only time its ever open is when someone comes over and uses it. I knew the ins and out of the system within a few days. Don't really care for a mac

aye any computer can last long, it all depends on the user.

incorrect

they can last semi long but they will be very slow, my little brother used his just to browse the web no downloading. 320gb HD and 4GB ram. went in the trash 2 weeks ago after about 2 years. thing started going super slow basically 1 year after owning it

junk

He must be good at covering his steps then with whatever he does online because there's gotta be more to this than that :lol

nah

same thing happened with my friend after he asked me about getting a mac or toshiba. i told him a mac if he could afford it, he looked and didnt want to spend much.

you know the rest... laptop went to CRAP in a year and a half. his mom had the same one, she no longer has it....

its a pattern

he got a macbook 6 months ago and he loves it

im not saying all Windows laptops are crap, maybe some are good but most crap out and slow down rather quickly. ive experienced it and so have friends, its no coincidence

nah it's still on the user.

hardware wise can't do anything about that if the quality was shoddy from the get go, but using it, it's the user.

OSX is good because it just works and there are less things open to the user to mess up compared to Windows.

so my friend and his mom not downloading a damn thing, music or videos and just using it to browse, type papers and his mom would occasionally watch DVDs time to time.

ok :lol

these people rarely use their laptops, dont download music or anything

but then again im lying :lol

I hear the same thing man, even my sister said her macbook was slowing down, and I was like what the hell do you do to your laptop.

My parents already went through 3 laptops and all they do is internet. My cousins all went through desktops/laptops, same thing. To get away from all of that, they all switched to macs because it just works as they said.

User error.

Have my Toshiba S6005 for about 7 yrs now, and its as fast as the day i got it! I also have a Macbook Pro that i use when i need to travel

If you don't spend much on a computer, don't expect it to last very long. The reason people love mac's so much is because of the quality of the hardware. You can't compare the longevity of a $1300 mac to a $500 PC. That's like comparing an E-class to a Cavalier. Sure, they'll do the same thing, but the quality built into both is completely different. HP & Dell are notorious for using cut rate parts, so if you are able to use it for more than 4 years, consider yourself lucky. I have an ASUS laptop I've had for the past 3 1/2 years and it's still going strong. However, it's time to upgrade since I'm consistently loading it to 80% of capacity with everything I do. You'd be surprised how much memory it uses to keep 20 tabs open consistently.

My 2007 Macbook died like 6 weeks ago. I dont want to spend 1,000$ on a computer again, because all I do is BS on them. NT, iTunes, and occasional word processing isnt worth what a new Macbook would cost me. Just waiting on a good buy for a PC to come along, or until I find a quality refurbished one.

Hey how were those $250 Chromebooks that Google made a few years ago?

I still have my big aluminum body 15" MacBook Pro from 2008.

Only problems I've had with it is something I had to get replaced I forgot what it but it was something to do with maybe the video card or something.

I honestly forgot, but also the damn charge had to be replaced like 2-3 times and they cost $100+ and I replaced the battery twice.

As others have said I don't think I would buy anything else besides a MacBook though.

I remember back in the days my mom bought like a $3500 Packard Bell desktop :{

I also dislike PC for leisure use, but for work purposes I prefer the PC... cause if it breaks the company is fixing it.

I'm also like antidope antidope though where as I don't use a Mac for any of it's intended purposes whatsoever like video editing or any of that stuff.

Most just NT, browsing other sites, streaming youtube vids, pr0n of course when desired, and online shopping/window/browsing shopping.

Still sticking with a Mac to hell with that :lol

Just bought the wife the yoga 2 pro and so far is great ...

Of course proper usage will dictate if its worth it. The specs are crazy though and the touch screen is very responsive.

I feel like most laptops nowadays have too much power for their own good haha. People aren't really using them that tough anymore unless they are gaming.

Macbook AIr mid 2011.

Need to change the battery soon.

.  Its been running super slow the past year and i definitely need a new one.  I bought it for $900 so it was a really good laptop at the time.  Now a days though i don't play video games on computers like I used to.  Kind of want an ultra book.

Still rocking my Dell Vostro 3550.

Been 3 years. I LOVE it.

Business class Dells >>>

Kinda bummed they dont have the vostro line anymore, soo I'll probably get a precision or latitude next.

Early 2011 MacBook Pro 13". Recently upgraded to a SSD and installed 8gb RAM. My laptop is a whole new computer and I'm loving it

I'm not 100% sure but it could have been the logic board or maybe the video card I forgot what it was.

Apple charged me like $330 or something to fix the issue since it was out of warranty.
