I just got back from Costa Rica, but on my trip I saw a few dudes rocking swastika tats. Am I missing something?

My girl and i rented a condo in Jaco (La Paloma Blanca)...it was a SICK trip. We did the canopy tours (zip lining), went to Tortuga Island, and hiked in ManuelAntonio Nat'l Park....we're already planning a return w. the possibility of buying some property out there. I've been to a lot of places, but therewas just something different about CR. I loved everything about the country. The people, the atmosphere, the FOOD! I'll post some pics probably later inthe week.

Truth. I've seen it in other countries too, like India and some parts of Asia. You only assume it's meant as a Nazi symbol due to WWII

yea my dude CR is amazing. something in the air i swear, as soon as you touch down it's like you smell and feel something, hard to describe but i hope youget what i mean. the nightlife is dope. the women are beautiful. the scenery with mountains and green everywhere.

I think what he might mean is that a lot of Nazi's fled Germany for South America to avoid prosecution as war criminals. Perhaps there still remains anelement of support from succeeding generations.

i thought hitler took the symbol from native indians or the aztecs...didn't know the swastika has roots in africa.

Swastika isn't an exclusively Nazi sign.. The Nazi's stole it from the eastern religions. Maybe the guys you saw were just punk anarchists - theysometimes wear swastikas just to provoke people event though they're not Nazis and actually hate Nazis.
Or maybe they're just dumb.. Like the numerous skinheads and racists in Russia who wear swastikas and worship Hitler, even though Hitler would'vekilled their ancestors or made them into slaves.
